Introduction

Having started with building houses with my mother for my Märklin/Fleischmann railroad, I got an Italeri DAF truck kit when I was eight years old. I made this kit all by myself. As a result the interior was hardly visible, from all the stains and glue on the windscreens. A technique that I've used too many times, as you can read 'here and there' in the Built Models section.

When I was eleven, 'someone' gave me model of a Revell F-18 Hornet, scale 1/144. From hereon I've built quite some models. No detailing or painting here, and hardly any decals (especially the little decals) until I was going to build the Italeri Sukhoi Su-25. For this model I bought me some Revell spray cans. When the model was finished (glued together), I sprayed some spots on the plane, to make it look like a camouflage scheme. I see this as the start of my ventures in trying to build a model of a real airplane, instead of "glued plastic parts with a vague plane-resemblance".

From that moment on, and for approximately ten years now, Remco and I have whipped each other up and stimulated eachother in building better and more detailed models.

On this website you'll find the models I've built, those that are in progress and the models that will be built, someday...

I hope you have fun reading Kit-FanaTic. The site is set up in English, to be available to a broad public. As I am Dutch, and thus not a native English speaker/writer, the texts on this website propbably contain some errors. Please let me know if you've found some.
