Last Friday, I posted about "What is web Traffic ???", for my site exceeded it's allowed bandwidth. Yesterday, just 3 days after exceeding the bandwidth, it exceeded again and it made me think and ask Why??? I considered few things on my investigation.

  • Google ads consumes site bandwidth but for my site experience, 1000MB is enough to have ads on my site.

  • There is just few images on my site; the header, background images, bullets, buttons, and some hotlinks (PTB, BTS). Means normal, not too many to consume all my 1G.

  • As my hit counter tells, the site is seldom visited. It just shows a low number of hits. Probably not the cause of downtime.

  • Some clicks came from searches on Yahoo, from google, and one came from Admoolah. Still not much too consume it all.

  • Then the most probable cause of my bandwidth being eaten up that fast is my favicon favicon. This always shows up on comment areas of sites that have a favicon feature and the likes. Some of those sites are consuming lots of bandwidth everyday as they have a lot of visitors and readers. Well, who's to blame on this is nobody. Im not going to place my favicon on my comments. I dont have a enough bandwidth to do it.

I think I figured it right now. But I still have to observe until a certain conclusion is formulated.
