Fung Lam is a 17 year old student on the verge of insanity. Stream is his acting debut. His performance in the film drew on the mix of boredom and extreme melodrama apparent in his own life. When not lying on the ground with flies, Fung enjoys watching television and fighting his dog. He aspires to fly to Orange County to live a life of serene lucidity. Although he doesn't surf or play waterpolo, Fung has undeniable expertise with a can-opener-self-defence machine thing which is sure to be useful in Southern California. Just in case Orange County does not exist and is merely a dot in the fabric of his vivid imagination, Fung's back up plan is to invent an automated memory recording device, erase everything he knows and relive his life in all its glory.
Dennis Liu is a first year student at the University of Auckland . His passion for filmmaking and music is closely rivalled by his love of citrus fruits of both the Floridian and Californian flavours. Stream is his second venture into the realm of guerrilla digital filmmaking, but the first project of a truly experimental and personal vein. When not making films, writing songs or playing guitar, Dennis enjoys talking to strangers about the weather. When there are no strangers around, Dennis looks for them in the closet and the garden shed. As a last resort, he substitutes strangers with kitchen utensils. In the past four months, he's progressed from an existence as a basketball, to a desklamp and finally to a glowing spatula. In the end, Dennis found acceptance in the kitchen and lived happily ever after.
Ajita Goh currently studies composition at the School of Music at the University of Auckland. A composer of virtuoso dexterity, her pieces include orchestral, chamber, choral and solo works of both the expansive and intimate nature. Her influences include Johannes Brahms, Japanese pop and film music of all genres. Stream is her second collaboration with director Dennis Liu to produce an entirely piano-based score. However, her approach for this film breaks new ground as the score was largely improvised to keep with the thematic spirit of the visuals. She does not currently own a Brahms statue but is on a constant lookout for similar memorabilia. |
