Dennis Liu (Director/Editor/DoP)

"Only the Hopeful" combines Dennis' love of the moving image, music and graphic novels to create a music video that remediated elements of every one of these art forms.

Dennis is a 1st year student at the University of Auckland and is currently studying towards a BA. Although occasionally seen in a hopeless state of mind, kicking footbags around in the garden, he is usually found upstairs in the foyer, playing guitar.

When not making or listening to music, Dennis likes to fold propaganda flyers (such as those frequently found in lecture theatres) into custom darts. They usually don't fly very well, but hey, there are a lot of flightless birds around and they're pretty cool.

Ethan Waters (Artwork/Rendering)

Ethan hates oranges, but loves chocolate. In his early years, his addiction to cocoa powder resulted in a fall-out from educational institutions.

After reaching an all-time low in his late teens, Ethan made a turnaround and became a counselor for the CFFMA Rehabilitation Centre. Soon after, Ethan got a job as operator #79 at a telecommunications company (name undisclosed). Within 5 months however, Ethan was fired for doodling on the job.

Although he was a terrible customer service rep, during his time at _____, Ethan had accumulated more than 300 sketches. Today, Ethan works as a freelance artist. And sometimes, he eats a bit of chocolate.
