A pencil case is like a house. It's one of those fundamental elements of every day living. You need to express yourself, you need to write, you need a pen, and you need a place to put those pens. Thus, the creation of the pencil case. Or pen case. Pfft. Dennis would like to think of independent cinema as something similar to a pencil case or a house. Or maybe a donut. Independent cinema is like a plane, because its one of those really special artforms that scooter around on a runway then take off in bird-simulation exercises while everyone inside freaks out as they consume their 4' by 6' toyboxes of food in their really really squashed seats. That's exactly what independent cinema is: submersive, uncomfortable, edgy, but ultimately worthwhile. By the way, I'm talking about Economy class here, not First Class. Why sit First Class when you can see the great view (which is at the very essence of flying) from Economy anyway? Dennis is a person of obsessions. From The Matrix to vacuum cleaners to shoes, Dennis has gone through multiple stages of blind consumerism, and today his latest obsession is independent filmmaking. But he knows this one's gonna last. Just like how he still vacuums the floor on a regular basis and still wears shoes, Dennis intends to make movies for the rest of his life until he finds an avocado and paper flavoured pie to eat or someone destroys every moviemaking device in the world, whichever comes first. Other than making films, Dennis enjoys songwriting, guitar-ing and listening to the sound of dust falling on the carpet. He would like to own a Rubik's Cube house some day, and when he does, he intends to put toilets in all 8 corners and the kitchen in the central cube. The serious stuff now: Dennis wants to make movies he'd want to watch himself, movies which say something meaningful but are accessible to anyone and everyone. Like fortune cookies.
