Customer Review: Dangerous Meltdown
This charger worked great for 4 weeks. And then it happened! I Put 2 aaa NIMH Batteries in to be Recharged. Went to take a shower and when I came downstairs I just thought I would take a look at the status of the batteries. To my horror I saw 2 batteries with the acid leaking out of the jacket of the batteries! little bubbles of acid coming out.I turned it off but by this time it was so hot i had to use a paper towel to remove them! after that,I noticed the bottom of the charger where the batteries lay was melted! WHAT!!! I called LACROSSE and they told me to send it back.I have another one on the way,ACCORDING TO THEM but i don't know if its a new version or not.It will be here in 3 days. if its the exact same one, I don't want it! What would have happened if I wasn't home? I will update when I get it.

Customer Review: Smart full featured Battery Charger
This is a great product, but I did discover a few 'glitches'. If you put four batteries at a time, it works just as designed. If you add one battery at a time, and set the specific bay for the function desired (charge, discharge, test, refresh), and give it enough time to 'accept' your request, you're fine. If you already have one or more batteries charging, and try to put in 2 more, or 3 more, you would expect that the default change of 'mode', would apply to the recently added batteries, but that is not necessarily the case. It sometimes 'blinks' (to show which bay/cell you are programming) only one of the new batteries bays, and not all the ones you JUST added.

The workaround, is once you have one battery already charging, if you want to add more, just add and program ONE AT A TIME.

(one time, I did have a 'glitch' happen, where adding two more batteries, while one was already charging, it reset the charge mode for all three batteries, so the two batteries that were already deep into a 'refresh' cycle, obviously, had to be 'restarted'. DOH!)

There also seems to be 'limits' it places. Although you can charge/discharge at various current levels, some batteries I have put in, the La Crosse charger won't charge at a current higher than it's "minimum" (200ma charge, 100 ma discharge). This is especially true for AAA batteries, and in some cases (rarer) AA batteries as well.

Additional, I did have 'trouble' getting the charger to recognize Tenergy AAA batteries. It sees the negative connector lead on the charger is fairly 'low', so that if the 'plastic cover/lip' of the AAA battery goes too far into the center of the negative battery terminal, the negative connector lead on the charger, doesn't make a good contact, so the charger says "null" not recognizing there's a battery in there at all.

The work around for this problem, is to 'tilt' the AAA battery, so that it makes a better contact, and luckily, the positive charger lead, is 'grided' so it creates a 'grip' and doesn't just 'pop' the AAA battery out.

The features and functions of the LaCrosse charger are really cool and for a techno-geek is great to play with (allowing you to change the current from slow (and better for the battery) to fast (because you need them recharged ASAP, but harder on the battery's long term life)... to charge/discharge/refresh/test modes.

The only 'nit' is really that the negative charger lead, could have been better designed. In other battery charges, there is a very 'flexible' negative lead connector that allows for the variance in length between a AA and a AAA. In the LaCrosse, they have TWO separate negative lead connectors, one higher up for the AA, and one lower to catch the negative lead of a AAA battery, but low enough, not to come in contact if a AA battery were in the charging bay. However, this has lead to 'lack of connection' with some AAA batteries.

But overall, I'm still very happy with the purchase. Way better than the 'dumb' chargers I used to own (and still do).

Customer Review: Best charger for the money
La Crosse Technology BC-9009 AlphaPower Battery Charger
This thing is the greatest thing since sliced cheese.
I've always had a problem with devices going dead fairly quickly when using NMH batteries even if the device was not in use for a couple of weeks.
I never figured it out what was wrong until I bought this charger.
If you have one battery that won't hold a charge, it is the weekest link in a device that holds multiple batteries and is the determining factor in how long the device will run on that group of batteries.
This charger finds those week batteries so you can get rid of them.
Now that I have weeded out those week batteries, my devices run much much longer on any group of batteries that I have charged.

Yes, it is true that if you have a completely dead battery or one that went to a negative charge because it was the weekest one in your device, this charger will not charge the battery and displays NULL on the screen.
However, if you take a good battery and connect the positive to the positive and the negative to the negative of the dead battery for a few seconds, the battery will aquire enough charge to be placed in the charger and the charger will recognize the battery.
I usually use two butter knives and place the negative side of the two batteries on one knife and connect the positive with another knife.

The instructions in the manual tell you to unplug the charger and put your batteries in then use a paper clip to connect the two positive ends of the dead and good battery together for a few seconds. Then remove the batteries, plug it in and replace the batteries.
I just don't always have a paper clip handy but the butter knifes are always where I can find them.

Customer Review: Nice Charger
This charger has rescued at least 6 Energizer AA rechargeable batteries from the recycle bin. Just be sure you have the time when you set it to refresh - it took better than two days on four of those batteries.

Customer Review: Sportster
Read the reviews between this and the Maha and decided that I could not go wrong regardless which I chose. Both gives the user similar options to charge/recycle/discharge etc. and maximize the life of your batteries. I chose the LaCrosse for its small size. I'm more inclined to take this with me when traveling than the larger Maha.

Very happy with the unit.

Item arrived a day early, just in time for my trip---thank you Amazon!!

Customer Review: A Do-It-Yourself Sharpener That Really Works!
They say that a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one, but this little knife sharpener got my knives so sharp in just a few strokes, that I cut right through a piece of chicken and into my finger in only a second.

I'd been looking for a service to sharpen my drawer full of dull knives when I happened on this sharpener. I used it on a few knives and discovered that the blades were returned to their original sharpeness in three-four strokes across the sharpening slot. Now I can do it for myself, saving time and money.

I now have a drawer full of sharp knives. I just have to learn to use them without doing my fingers as well!

Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Good edge, but takes a lot of metal off
I am sharpener impaired , and have bought lots of stones and sharpeners spending a bunch ($200 plus in all)
This thing puts a great edge on , simply. makes knives a happy, sharp experience.
However, It TAKES A LOT of metal off, so requires cautious use and acknowlegement of the fact that knives you use it on, ain't gonna last forever.
That, I can afford

Customer Review: Best knife sharpener ever used.
saw this is my goldbox and gave it a try, wow.. it works very well, had some old kitchen knives that would only crush a tomato, now they slice thru them with razor sharp accuracy. have a really expensive Chef's Choice Sharpener bought years ago, this works better than that and is portable. amazon has got a keeper here. will have to get some more as gift's.

Customer Review: Hands down the best sharpener for the money
I could never get the hang of sharpening steels or stones, and the electric models take up too much space and are expensive. This is a good compromise. Puts a wonderful edge on my Tramontina Professionals, and it's so easy to use. Just flip the knife upside down on the counter and draw the blade through the V a few times. It only takes seconds, and you almost can't mess it up. Just remember to use LIGHT pressure on the blade.

I use the 8" utility knife to slice pineapple, and you know how removing the tough outer skin of a pineapple does a number on the edge of a knife. As soon as I got home, I put it through about half a dozen light swipes on the Accusharp, it sliced through the skin like butter.

I don't know if I'd use it on Japanese knives, since they have a different angle than western style knives, but for regular kitchen knives, this sharpener is a gem. Don't waste your money on those expensive electric ones that take up counter space.

Customer Review: An amazing tool
Simple in design and effective in execution, this knife sharpener really works. Even the cheap kitchen knife I had never succeeded in sharpening before cuts like a good knife now after some 15 passes on this sharpener. An old Swiss Army knife requires just a few passes to regain its original edge. Very impressed and strongly recommended.

Victorinox 8-Inch Chef Kitchen: Victorinox 8-Inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle
Manufacturer: R H Forschner by Victorinox
Price: $38.80

Editorial Review: Product Description
The chef's knife is a kitchen staple, with a wide straight edged blade ideally suited to cutting and chopping fruits and vegetables, herbs, and so on. Some may find the 10" length too awkward and unwieldy, and for those people we recommend this slightly shorter knife. R. H. Forschner is a division of Swiss Army Brands, Inc, renowned for the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. These knives are specially ground and tempered so that they can be resharpened over and over again, keeping a sharp edge throughout their lifetime. State of the art technology blended with old world craftsmanship produce cutting instruments of excellent quality, at reasonable prices. Forschner Victorinox Fibrox knives have earned high marks in a well-known cooking magazine which stringently tests kitchen products.

Customer Review: Decent but far from great
I have used this knife on a number of occasions and every time I ask myself what is the big deal? America's Test Kitchen has a very inconsistent philosophy. They rate very expensive All-Clad cookware high but rarely try to rate expensive cutlery. So when they consistently give this knife the victory in every competition, I always get a chuckle. The knife is fairly sharp and is great for a cooking school where cheap and easy to sharpen knives are required but for a personal home knife, I disagree. The fibrox handles are spongy and rubbery. I prefer finished wooden handles which has firmness that translate energy more efficiently and produces a better feel when cutting. A better wooden handle knife is more expensive but well worth it if you planing to use it everyday. This knife also has a large belly and overall a big profile which is not necessary but makes up for a lack of bolster in weight. If you want an utilitarian knife without a pleasurable experience this is for you. But if you want to get some joy out of prep work look at Shun's or others.

Customer Review: Great knife!
I bought this knife on the recommendation from America's Test Kitchen. I'm very pleased with the balance and feel of it. It's relatively lightweight for a knife of this size, but it cut's like a dream. The handle is comfortable and does not tire my hand with heavy chopping. I haven't had it very long so it's a bit early to tell how well it holds it's edge. I like it better than my very expensive Cutco knife of the same size. The price is very reasonable and the product is a very good value.

Customer Review: Great kitchen knife
This knife has served me very well.
It's incredibly cheap but it cuts through things quite nicely.
There is no reason not to get it unless you are a high end user who likes to spend money on expensive kitchen knives.

Customer Review: Greatest knives
These are the greatest knives - and price is good, too! Will probably never buy another brand again. Service was very good.

Customer Review: Great knife
I loved the knife when I got it and still do. Wish I would have gotten sooner.

What you see is rarely what you get with Jimmy Buffett. While he may contend that he is the king of slackers, a modern day Dean Martin whipping up fizzy rum drinks under the palm trees in a silk Hawaiian shirt, this best-selling author and raconteur is actually the thinking man's party animal. His deceptively breezy lyrics and lazy charm belie a shrewd social commentator and a man not at peace with his world or his own mortality--taking well-aimed potshots at everything from cell phone culture to ancient Greek history to the threat of terrorism, as on the sharply ironic "Party at the End of the World." But having said that, all the unrest exhibited in these 14 songs makes for a far more interesting album than he's made in over two decades. Reflective, unstinting, and often nostalgic, the musician changes the tempo and the subject matter, swapping his usual languid island exhortations of alcohol and brief bikini tops for the fascinating emotional ambiguity of "Whoop De Doo," or the simple charm of "Nothing but a Breeze," which seems so autobiographical it's hard to believe that Buffett didn't write it. But the standout track is his chilling cover of Mary Gauthier's "Wheel Inside the Wheel," revealing exactly what kind of demons have been residing under the singer's ever-present baseball cap. --Jaan Uhelszki

Customer Review: Take the weather with you!
Always when stuck in the North and can't make it back to the islands, I put on Jimmy and don't feel so far away. When you listen to Jimmy you really can "Take the weather with you"

Customer Review: Bama Breeze
If You like Jimmy Buffett than you will love this record. There are a few covers and a few originals. I very nice blend of tropical beats and a touch of Buffett makes this a wonderful addition to any collection

Customer Review: Typical JB!
To me, this is a typical JB CD. The tunes are all laid back and relaxing; but leave me in a better mood than before. I am very happy with this CD. One can NEVER get enough of JB's island sounds!!!

Customer Review: Jimmy Buffett - Lot's Of Cover Tunes But A Pleasent Surprise
I had mixed feelings when I purchased Buffett's most recent CD "Take The Weather With You" mainly because of the amount of cover tunes on the album. Of the 14 tracks on the album only 4 of them are new compositions by Buffett. The rest are covers of other peoples songs albeit mostly obscure non hits. After giving this a bunch of listens I have to admit that Buffett won me over with this one. Buffett has always done other people's stuff on occasion and has always been good at picking songs that fit his style. This album is no exception as he really chose well here for the most part and makes the songs he did not write his own. Of the four originals "Party At The End Of The World" is one of the better ones. It is a typical light hearted tune about Tierra Del Fuego and for the most part works the way it is intended. The real highlight though is Buffett's postscript to the city of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina "Breathe In Breathe Out Move On". This is a truly touching ode to the city and it's attempt to recover from the aftermath of the storm. Buffett can be inconsistent in his lyrics, but this one is very much a winner. Of the cover tunes, the single "Bama Breeze" is a cool little ditty that probably should have received more airplay than it did. "Weather With You" is a rather straightforward cover of The Crowded House tune, but is a perfect vehicle for Buffett's laid back style. "Wheel Inside The Wheel" is a gospel influenced Gaither brother's cover that again comes across as prime Buffett. The rest of the tunes are all average to good, with no real stinkers to be found like some of his albums can contain. Along with his usual Coral Reefer band cohorts the album also features guest appearances by Mark Knophler, Sonny Landreth, and the return of Greg "Fingers" Taylor who contributes a scorching harmonica solo on the Buffett penned "Everybody's On The Phone". This is certainly not the best album Buffett has done, but it comes as a pleasant surprise at this stage in his career. One has to wonder though if the creative juices are starting to run a bit thin with the shortage of original material to be found here.

Customer Review: This one's a keeper
I never know what to expect from a Buffett album. sometimes I can pop it in and listen straight through and love every song. and sometimes there's one song or two I like and the rest are strictly fast forward numbers. sadly there have been fewer keepers than there used to be and I finally realized one reason when I was scanning the credits on this album. I've missed Fingers Taylor more than I knew I would. It's great to have him back. I've always found that the songs I love are usually the ones with the harmonica wailing in the background.

I've found myself humming the songs from this album even when the CD wasn't on, which means they've stuck with me. and that hasn't happened in a while.

Some of the reviewers have been down on the Buffett written songs on this CD but I adore Hula Girl at Heart and Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On. I love the line about earthly creatures rarely notice when guardian angels pass them by. And I swear I am making "everybody's on the phone" my new ringtone. I've always loved Jimmy's lyrics and the ones he wrote on this CD are great.

And I am totally hooked on Cinco deMayo in Memphis.

As far as the not-original music - sometimes I like his covers and sometimes I wish for the originals. this batch is ok.

Final analysis - I can put this CD in and not feel a need to fast forward through any song. Which is not something I've been able to say about a Buffett CD in a long while. I hope the trend continues.

Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter didn't truly fulfill Weather Report's artistic and commercial potential until they brought on-board a bassist who could function as an equal partner in the musical equation, like co-founder Miroslav Vitous, whose main shortcoming was his inability to play funk. In renegade bassist Jaco Pastorius, the band found a formidable composer and improvisor, who possessed deep roots in funk and R&B, yet was equally at home in modern jazz and Afro-Cuban settings. Not coincidentally, the presence of this innovative fretless bassist on Heavy Weather gave Weather Report the rhythmic/melodic dimension it had been missing since Vitous's departure, as evidenced by his voice-like declamations on Zawinul's ballad "A Remark You Made." On Zawinul's chart-topping, big band-styled arrangement of "Birdland," Pastorius provided the kind of big, sweeping orchestral gestures the tune required, while on the shifting canvas of Wayne Shorter's "Harlequin," the bassist's ability to articulate complex chords allowed him to function as a string section unto himself. And on his own "Havona," Pastorius not only soloed with horn-like artistry, but combined with drummer Alex Acuna and percussionist Manolo Badrena to give Weather Report its funkiest rhythm section ever. --Chip Stern

Customer Review: Still raining supreme
4 1/2

Even being as notoriously innovative and influential as they have, HW stands, nearly universally, as Weather Report's most impressively concise work. This '77 mid-career triumph shows the group at a level and consistency of jazz-rock synergy which has yet to be rivaled 30+ years after the fact.

Customer Review: My Favorite Album of All Time
I was already a Weather Report fan when this album was originally released in 1977. After hearing it for the first time, I immediately called it the best album I've ever heard.

I don't speak in terms of "bests" anymore, but 32 years after its original release, it is still my favorite album of all time. An absolute masterpiece.

Customer Review: The Fuse is Lit in Fusion
From reaching at #1 on the Billboard jazz album chart to hitting #30 on the pop album chart, this classic 1977 release quickly became a fusion masterpiece.

Birdland - a Joe Zawinul composition, along with the beautiful ballad, A Remark You Made and The Juggler - quickly became a signature number for WR and a cross-over sensation that will continue to bring listeners into electric jazz. Teen Town and Havona by Jaco Pastorius show his maturation as a composer, with Wayne Shorter nothing less than solid with his numbers, Harlequin and Palladium. Percussionists Alex Acuna and Manolo Badrena penned the snappy Rumba Mama, which is from a live performance at the 1976 Montreux Jazz Festival.

A tour-de-force of artistry, it turned a superstar jazz group into international pop stars who transcended the labels during the era that shoved music into pigeonholes.

Customer Review: essential weather report
I actually worked at a theatre as a stagehand when this album came out, and was being supported by their tour. I sat about 12 feet away from Jaco during the show. This collection is a must for any current or would be fan of Weather Report.

Customer Review: Jazz at its finest
thats really all i can say, you must love music and JAZZ to listen to this but if you do you'll love it. the first track is probably the best. these guys are great but like all great things short lived RIP Jaco.

Rocky Gift Set (Gift) [VHS] Video: Rocky Gift Set (Gift) [VHS]
Manufacturer: MGM (Video & DVD)
Price: $59.92

Editorial Review: Amazon.com
Americans love the underdog. Anytime someone is beating the odds, fighting his or her way to the top, like the Little Engine That Could, it resonates well with U.S. audiences; it's in their nature. Sylvester Stallone knew that in 1976, when Rocky was a monstrous hit and established itself in the American cultural lexicon. His low-budget tale of a young boxer who came from the slums of Philadelphia and worked his way to the championship recalls Capra characters such as Mr. Smith or John Doe as he worked his way to fame and self-respect. Like Capra's films from 30 years before, Rocky pushed emotional buttons with audiences, but in a somewhat less maudlin, obvious way; it's possible to enjoy Rocky without feeling embarrassed about it, even in the cynical, postironic '90s. It ranks respectably among the best boxing pictures, such as The Set-Up or Somebody Up There Likes Me. The story paralleled Stallone's own, from a relative unknown to a star with one breakthrough picture. Rocky II (1979) carries on the story line, playing on the rivalry between Rocky Balboa and nemesis Apollo Creed, while Balboa's wife fights for her life. Mainly, though, the sequel seems like a link between the first film and Rocky III, in which an aging Rocky takes on big, bad Clubber Lang (the near-forgotten Mr. T). While playing on the same emotional capital as the first movie, Rocky III is the high-water mark of the sequels; by the next movie, Stallone had turned into a near-self-parody of the original character. Rocky IV finds the underdog taking on an oversized, blond Russian boxer (Dolph Lundgren) in a cold war scenario (Rocky literally wraps himself in the American flag). The series mercifully played out by 1990, as embarrassingly punch-drunk as the Rocky character himself by that point. Given the way the American pop-culture continuum seems to work, it's probably due time for the later sequels to be plucked from the compost heap of '80s flotsam and revived as high camp; the Reagan-era hyperpatriotism of Rocky IV is as dated as in junk like Red Dawn or the dreadful Invasion U.S.A. Still, the first three films pack a satisfying emotional wallop without giving the viewer the urge to crawl under the couch. The last two... well, use your judgment. They will soon be good for an '80s nostalgia party. --Jerry Renshaw

Customer Review: If you love it!

Customer Review: Rocky Anthology
Order received in excellent condition and in a timely manner. Purchased as a gift for a grandson - his choice.

Customer Review: Timeless
If you are a Rocky fan, then you have to get the Rocky Anthology. The picture and sound are great on these DVD's. The Rocky Anth. includes all of the origional trailers for each of the movies. I'm a big Rocky fan and when I gought this, I was so thrilled. The Rocky Anth. is easily worth 30$. This Anthology may not have special features, but to just have these legendery movies are great. You will come across Rocky "YO ADRIAN!!!", Apollo Creed "I want all of America, I want the whole world to see me destroy this man after two short rounds", Clubber Lang "I pity the Fool", and Drago "I must break you". These's movies have great songs such as Gonna fly now, Eye of the tiger, No easy way out, Burning heart, and Hearts on fire. Thanks for reading and I hope this review came in handy. Bye now.

P.S. My YouTube channel is YouTube.com/SuperJustin151 check it out. You will see some great videos. And feel free to leave some comments.

Customer Review: CASI LA COLECCION PERFECTA DE ROCKY

Customer Review: Restrained Mary Lambert, but not too much so
This really is a gorgeous production and it's nice to note that the critics have been kinder to it than other Mary Lambert films ("Pet Semetary 1 and 2" and "Siesta", to name a few). Lambert is usually a flamboyant director and not afraid of wearing her influences on her sleeve (Ken Russell, Nic Roeg, etc.). But like her many mentors, Lambert is capable of showing restraint when needed and "Grand Isle" is a perfect example. Set in Louisiana at the turn of the century, "Grand Isle" is filled with excellent set design and costuming. The photography is drenched in sunlight and the sequences are framed by "fades to white". In other words, an atmospheric and ambient endeavor. The musical score is quite nice. Touches of classical piano with synthesizer washes. Other reviewers have mentioned the plot, so I won't go in to that other than mention that there are some fabulous fantasy/flash-back sequences that are lovely and thought provoking. Those looking for a classy period romance/drama will enjoy this as much as the Mary Lambert and art-house afficianados.

Customer Review: If you enjoy the Kate Chopin book The Awakening see this!!!
I love this movie. Kate Chopin is one of my favorite writers and this film is a wonderful adaptaion of the Awakening! I highly suggest this movie. It is a movie with a strong female lead and can be called a "chick flick" but it is a wonderful movie.

Customer Review: Okay for a "chick-flick" but slow-moving.
Kelly McGillis and Adrian Pasdar are both beautiful and spell-binding to watch as always. The plot is interesting but this is a very slow-moving romantic-novel type film. It comes across like a stereotypical "chick-flick."

Editorial Review: Amazon.com essential video
Rambo meets Alien in this terrific science-fiction thriller from 1987, directed by John McTiernan just a year before Die Hard made him Hollywood's most sought-after director of action-packed blockbusters. Arnold Schwarzenegger leads an elite squad of U.S. Army commandos to a remote region of South American jungle, where they've been assigned to search for South American officials who've been kidnapped by terrorists. Instead they find a bunch of skinned corpses hanging from the trees and realize that they're now facing a mysterious and much deadlier threat. As the squad is picked off one by one, Arnold finds himself pitted against a hideous alien creature that's heavily armed and wearing a spacesuit enabling the creature to render itself invisible. The title says it all in describing the relentless, escalating action that follows, maintained by McTiernan with an abundance of visual flair. The film's special effects are still impressive, and stunning locations in the Mexican jungles create a combined atmosphere of verdant beauty and imminent danger. The plot doesn't hold up to much scrutiny, but the movie's so exciting and tightly paced that its weaknesses seem irrelevant. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Review: Schwarzenegger in his day 7.5/10
Predator is a 1987 Sci Fi action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Major Dutch Schieffer Bill Duke as Mac Carl Weathers as Dillon Jesse Ventura Blain Sonny Landham Billy Shane Black as Hawiins Richard Chaves as Poncho Ephidia Carrillo as Anna and Kevin Peter Hall as The Predator. Story Schieffer leads a recon team into a Central American jungle and there going after this group of terrorists that are holding CIA people hostage. There is a big shoot out and they find no hostages Dillon was just using them to take these terrorists out they were working for the Russians. The team finds this women named Anna basically she keeps telling them that the jungle came alive. The team is killed 1 by 1 until it's down to Schieffer and The Predator. The characters are entertaining they all have that machismo and if you never seen this movie before you'll be like why did they kill him off. Predator's costume great for 87 awesome special effects a fun suspenseful movie.

Customer Review: Awesome Movie - Terrible BluRay
Being a die hard Predator (not Predator II of course) fan, I considered myself lucky to find the Blu Ray version on sale at target for $15.00, and I bought it to replace my SD version. It is OMG terrible, could even be worse quality than the SD disc. If you're considering upgrading to Blu Ray - DON'T!!!

Customer Review: Pure Escapism
Yeah, I know this is a low-grade simple story, one of those action flicks that oozes with too much testosterone.....but so what.? Every once in a while, it's a nice release to sit back and get lost in a scary movie set in the jungle. I don't know anyone who ever dozed asleep watching this, so it's not all bad. It's actually a fun movie.

Despite the moronic and unlikeable characters who uttered some stupid dialog, the movie gets you very involved and is one of the better pure-action movies I've ever seen. The jungle scenery is outstanding to view on DVD. This is a pretty movie for such low-grade material, story-wise. I watched it a second time just for the visuals.

Speaking of visuals, it's disappointing that the Blu-Ray transfer is so poor...at least according to most of the reviewers here, whom I believe. I would have gladly upgraded but now I'm a little leery of doing that.

Customer Review: Good action film, OK DVD package
I have always liked this film.

FAVORITE BIT. JESSE VENTURA & THAT GUN HIS CHARACTER USED!! Just loved that.

Ok, regular, normal extras.

A passable, OK DVD package.

Customer Review: Predator on Blu-Ray
I'm so impressed with the quality of the presentation of this film (which I've seen 1000 times on other formats) that I didn't even notice the lack of extras until someone mentioned it. I watched it on my PS3 via HDMI, hooked to a 47 Phillips LCD HDTV 120hz. The picture quality was excellent. Those people who claim it looked like the regular DVD need a new HDTV, or an eye exam. In my opinion the picture quality was better than T2, Die Hard 2, and Total Recall (I'm referring only to the blu-ray format of these movies).

Customer Review: A very good group of MGM musicals from their golden era
This is a very good set of MGM musicals showcasing a whole range of talents at that studio in the 1940's and 50's, most musical but some not. I discuss the films in descending order of my enjoyment:

Three Little Words (1950) - I enjoyed this film the most. I think Astaire and Skelton complemented each other wonderfully. I was wondering how Skelton would work teamed up with Astaire, but he holds his own quite well. Supposedly it is the story of songwriting team Bert Kalmar (Fred Astaire) and Harry Ruby (Red Skelton), and I am not sure how close to the truth this story is, but the film is everything you expect in an MGM musical of this period, great music and good comedy. Hermes Pan, who did so much of the choreography in Astaire's RKO films, does the dance numbers here, and they are quite polished. It is quite humorous how the film works the hobbies of Kalmar and Ruby - magic and baseball, respectively - into the storyline.

Summer Stock (1950) - One of those "let's put on a show" MGM musicals, and Judy Garland's last starring role at MGM before being fired. Judy is trying to make a go of the family farm when her sister (Gloria De Haven) shows up with her beau (Gene Kelly) and her entire theatrical troupe. She has generously donated the farm as the locale for the troupe's next show, without getting Judy's permission of course. Eventually little sister decides she is destined for better things than "summer stock" and runs off with the show's star. Now the show has to find someone to take her place...who do you think they pick?

Till The Clouds Roll By (1946) - This is a pretty good biopic/musical involving the life and music of Jerome Kern (Robert Walker). Warner Home Video has restored this film to its former glory versus the really bad copies in circulation in the public domain. Unlike most MGM musicals, this film separates the main characters in the film (Walker as Kern and Van Heflin as Kern's mentor James Hessler) from the performers, who amount to MGM's biggest musical stars of the day performing Kern's music culminating in Frank Sinatra singing "Old Man River" from Showboat. Another highlight is Judy Garland as Marilyn Miller performing various numbers from "Sally". Again, you have to suspend your beliefs on the true facts of Kern's life.

It's Always Fair Weather (1955) - The age of the big MGM musical production was beginning to wind down by the time this film was made. It has more story to it than most MGM musicals, revolving around three G.I. buddies and their vow in 1945 to meet in a particular bar ten years later. They all keep their word and keep the date, but each is vastly disappointed in how the other two have turned out and initially have nothing much to say to each other. There's some interesting commentary here on life in the 50's and in particular the early days of TV and advertising's place in it. Gene Kelly is entertaining as always, but I was really surprised by Dan Dailey's talent as the ad executive that comes to a startling self-realization at an inopportune time and does quite a performance dancing and singing about his plight.

Ziegfeld Follies (1946) - The premise of this film is that Ziegfeld (with William Powell reprising his role) is in heaven thinking of his dream revue, with the rest of the movie just a playing out of that dream revue. It involves the big musical and comedy stars of MGM putting on a show of their various capabilities, and for all intents and purposes could be renamed "The Hollywood Revue of 1946" for those familiar with the original from 1929 which basically had the same purpose. Of course, technology has advanced considerably over the ensuing 17 years, but there are still some missteps. Basically, the musical numbers are good, but the comedy skits that punctuate them fall very flat and detract from the entire film. The highlight for me was seeing Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly perform together in a number. The musical numbers make this an above average film, but just barely.

Someone else has already gone over the extras, which are many, so I won't mention them once again. All in all a very enjoyable set for anyone who is a fan of the MGM musicals of the 40's and 50's with all of the extras I've come to expect from Warner Home Video. They certainly know their audience.

Customer Review: Great Movies
Terrific prices. Wonderful musicals.

Good response. Prompt delivery. Excellent condition.

Customer Review: Perfect, but not quite
It is wonderful to see these films finally being released on DVD! The prints are bright, colorful and clean and the soundtracks are sound better than ever. The films themselves are a treasure without any added attractions. However, since so much emphasis is put on special features, let me say that they aren't what they could be for these movies. Consider what the "Zeigfeld Follies" laser disc offered in the way of extras. There is a great deal of original pre-recorded music available from that film, so why not include more or all of it? One disturbing trend I noticed on the short documentaries is a change in the ratio of the screen image. After all of the talk about restoration and letterbox, why show clips in wide screen when the original films were not produced in wide screen. The presentation and restoration of classic films has become so much more important to viewers over the past two decades. Let's don't take steps backwards.

Customer Review: What a deal
Although this has been called a mixed bag by some, for the price, you just can't go wrong. Judy & Gene doing the "Portland Fancy" and Judy singing "Get Happy" from "Summer Stock"; Lena Horne singing numbers from "Show Boat," the musical she should have been in; Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire doing their only real on-screen duet in "Ziegfeld Follies" (they pretty much just walked through "That's Entertainment 2"); all these priceless musical numbers must be seen to be believed, all in glowing and restored technicolor. Lots of fun extras as well.

Studio: Tcfhe Release Date: 06/12/2007 Starring: Dennis Quaid Emmy Rossum Run time: 123 minutes Rating: Pg13

Customer Review: Review of the Blu-ray version
Overall, this is a fun film. I realize that the politics of global warming get people going on both sides, but viewed strictly as an action/sci-fi film, I found it very entertaining. Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal are quite serviceable in the leads, and Emmy Rossum is cute as a button (why hasn't she had a more successful career?). There are few story glitches: [SPOILER ALERT] At one point, we are told that Texas and the Southwest U.S. are spared from the devastating ice and snow. Why, then, are people shown streaming over the Rio Grande (during perfectly fine weather!) and why does the U.S. president end up in Mexico City (instead of, say, Houston)? Also, with all the attention on Dennis Quaid making it back to New York to rescue Jake, what about the families of the other people trapped in the library? None of Jake's friends seem the least concerned about the fates of their parents or siblings. The especial effects are good, with the exception of the wolves on the ship, who seem too obviously cgi.

The Blu-Ray transfer is ok, but not great. Some scenes are very crisp, but many seem at about good DVD level. Like other reviewers, I also had some trouble with the sound, with some of the dialog being a little difficult to make out. There are no extras beyond a few deleted scenes. The most interesting deleted (or alternate) scene involves the wolves chasing Jake all the way back to the room in the library with the fireplace. That the wolves were dropped from the release print is another indication that the cgi on them just didn't work out.

All in all, a decent flick, particularly if you get it, as I did, as part of Amazon's combo with the Terminator and I, Robot.

Customer Review: An Entertaining Movie and a Good Blu-ray Transfer
This review has two parts 1) About the movie (the story) and 2) about the Blu-ray DVD. I own both the standard DVD and the Blu-ray of this movie. My review is of the Blu-ray version.

First - this movie is entertainment, with an overtone that Global Warming is happening and it could impact us in big ways. It doesn't point fingers, so please don't get bogged down in associating this with the Global Warming debates. Global Warming is just the catalyst for this highly entertaining action movie. If want to hold the film to scientific exactness, then you won't like it - but then you probably won't like many movies other than documentaries anyway. This is just entertainment, and it's great at that. If you enjoy movies like Twister or Independence Day, then you should like this movie as well.

Second - the Blu-ray version of the movie is pretty well done. It adds clarity Blu-ray movies should have, but there are still scenes that don't have the sharpness you would expect. I assume the source was just not high enough quality in some scenes to allow for a Blu-ray resolution output. Some scenes were still as grainy as the DVD version. This is why I only give this movie 4 stars. Still, overall I feel satisfied with the improvement.

For those that have good sound systems as part of their home theater setup, you'll REALLY like how the Blu-ray version makes you feel you are part the action. The Lossless Audio (DTS HD 5.1 Master Lossless Audio) really makes the sound rock, and allowed me to feel immersed in the story. Got the neighbors interested in Blu-ray as well! (You'll have to make sure your setup can decode this though.)

Customer Review: Good video, sound is just a bit muddy
I'm not looking to review the movie since you can get tons of reviews everywhere. All I'll say is that it's a fun movie if you don't take it too seriously.

The video quality of the Blu-Ray edition is really good, good enough that you don't notice it, you just feel like you're in the action. It's as good as being at the theater. The sound quality is also good, but not perfect; in places it's muddy, particularly when there's a lot of weather howling sounds. Dialogue is crisp and easy to follow, but this doesn't drive your subwoofer as much as you'd expect given the subject matter, and some of the sound just doesn't pop like you'd figure. It's not bad, it's just not as good as you'd hope.

Customer Review: Great movie, great price
Terrific movie. Didn't want to pay much and I got what I wanted. Quality video, low price. Thanks.

Customer Review: IS ANYONE ELSE HOT AND COLD?
The Day After Tomorrow is a disaster film that succeeded in getting across it's message about global warming while still keeping it's audience thoroughly entertained. The plot follows a Climatologist named Jack and his son,who are unfortunately States apart when Mother Nature finally decides she's smelled enough burning fuel. It's up to Jack to convince higher authorities that the worst isn't over and to reach his son before it's too late. The acting is quite good for a summer blockbuster and the special effects are top-notch,such as a massive tsunami swallowing New York or a dozen Tornadoes tearing apart L.A. Afterall, these are the same people who made Independence Day so should we expect anything less? The film was well cast and the musical score fits the movie quite well. While it's not a perfect film,The Day After Tomorrow sets itself apart from other disaster movies by confronting you with an unfortunate truth about the future while still entertaining the crap out of you.

Editorial Review: Product Description
Includes Panasonic ES8109S Vortex Wet Dry Nano Technology Hydraclean System Mens Shaver.

Customer Review: Nano, The only way to shave.
This Nano technology that the New Panasonic Wet/Dry Shaver uses is the best shave that in my 56yrs. I have ever gotten. Great Job :Panasonic! Keep up the great techology Develpoement.

Customer Review: Excellent Shaver
After much research, I purchased this shaver to replace my dying Norelco wet/dry shaver. I've used Norelco's all my life and they've done the job, but I've always thought they could do a bit better. This Panasonic shaver has given me the best shave I've ever had, very close and comfortable without having to go over the same area over and over again. Factor in that you can use it dry or in the shower (which you can't with a Braun), and the great price, and I don't see how you can do better than this shaver.

Customer Review: If you're used to a blade, you should weight the pros and cons.
I switched over to this model of electric shaver last week because I was sick and tired of spending 15 dollars on 4 gilette fusion razor blades that were only lasting me 4 shaves before destroying my face. Knowing that Panasonic shavers were available for using wet with lotion, and having tried one dry (which I was decently impressed by) I decided to take the plunge and order this thing for 100 dollars.

1st Shave: Ouch. I was excited as a kid on christmas when this thing got to my house, and made the mistake of attempting to shave with it dry, since I didn't have time for a shower. It did a fine job on my face. My neck looked like somebody had tried to lynch me, and it took about 4 days for the cuts and the razor burn to heal. My fault though, even back when I used a Norelco it was a cool skin model and I didn't use it unless I had just showered. That left me with razor burn too. Disappointed, I figured I'd wait it out to see what happened.

2nd Shave: WOW!!! Well, after waiting three days for my face to heal up, I showered, splashed on some lectric shave, and mixed some Edge Advantage Revitalizing Cream with an even amount of Neutrogena razor defense shave cream and had at it. Face was WAY smoother in a short period of time. The neck still burned, but this time I was prepared with post shave lotion and that helped out greatly. Also, allowing the lectric shave 30 -45 seconds on the neck and face before applying the cream helped me get a LOT closer on the sides of the neck, under the jaw, and on the face. I was pretty happy with that shave, and thought that once my neck, and particularly my adams apple got used to it, this thing would be awesome. So I went looking for slicker, longer lasting shave gels and other things to help set my beard up, leading me to shave 3.

3rd Shave: This one wasn't as good as the second, but not as bad as the first. After buying some neutrogena razor defense face scrub (for use before shaving) and some Nivea For Men HI-PERFORMANCE X-TREME shaving gel I figured I'd have the winning combo nailed. Wrong. The foam was thick, which I'm sure gunked up the blades resulting in me having to go over my face and neck more, resulting in more irritation. To make matters worse, that pre-shave scrub only seemed to dry my skin out, which coupled with some razor bite and an alcohol based pre shave did not end well. I did, however, notice that despite how my neck FELT, it looks like it's improving with every shave in terms of adapting to the irritation. Still not "AS CLOSE AS A BLADE WITHOUT THE IRRITATION!!" like so many of these companies claim.

I will probably come back to this review later to update it, but for now all I can say is that the performance of the shaver is EXTREMELY important to me, over aesthetics, cleaning systems, and all that other stuff. My beard isn't super thick, but it's definitely thick enough to ware down Gilette Fusion blades by the third shave, and after the fourth the blade is useless. That said, after just a shower and either of the previously mentioned shave creams(neutrogena or edge advantage) I was getting the most absolutely perfect shave you could think of or envision.

In comparison, I am still letting my skin get used to this. I've had this new shaver for a week, and I've used it three times. My skin DOES seem to be adjusting, but it seems to be extremely important that you first have the razor cleaned, as the shaving solution also acts as a kind of lubricant, or so it seems. Second, DON'T use this thing dry if you have issues with electrics beating up your neck. My old norelco did this, and even the perfect gilette fusion nicked my neck every now and then at the adams apple, same spot this thing is having issues. Thirdly, use a thin shaving cream or gel that stays slippery. Clinique and Billy Jealousy, as well as Zihr, are all supposed to have great ones that provide excellent razor glide, although they are expensive, and I haven't yet tried them. Edge advantage seems to no longer be in production, which is unfortunate. Neutrogena razor defense cream has worked well for me though. Thin is important though, as a thick gel will clog the razor. Fourth, a pre-electric solution like Lectric Shave, Afta, or any of the others out there seems to make a difference. I can't feel it on my skin until after the shave when I notice how much smoother my face is compared to when I don't use it. Lastly, get a really really good soothing after shave balm. Neutrogena's isn't bad, but it doesn't cool. Nivea is supposed to have a good cooling one, and again Billy Jealousy is supposed to have good after shave balm as well. If you feel like spending 22 dollars on it, I have heard rave reviews for the clinique post shave healer.

Ultimately, I bought this razor to save money on fusion blades, which are costing me a reasonable chunk of cash. That and the fact that I love different electronic gadgets and this thing fit the bill and sounded great, so I took the plunge.

It is NOT as thorough as a razor in my opinion, nor is it as fast. That said, I have still only had it for 6 days, and have only used it three times. Stubble seems to grow back quicker, which would infer the shave isn't as close. Despite this, my face feels smooth as velvet after use, despite some irritation. The irritation is a major issue though on the neck and adams apple. My neck is shaved just fine, my adam's apple is tough though, and the razor burn on both afterwards exceeds my face. In the end though, a good post shave lotion can take care of that quickly. Cheaper than buying tons of blades, but more irritation if you aren't used to electrics. Also, the money you spend trying to find the right kind of pre shave, during the shave, and after shave lotions could add up quickly.

These are my opinions, everybody has a different beard type, different skin type, etc. I have a friend who's been shaving for the past 8 years with a braun syncro and has no issues with it, and gets close. He started using it at 14 though and hasn't stopped, so I imagine he's used to it. I used a rotary electric from 13 to 15 and then went back to a blade until last week, a little less than two months from my 22nd birthday, and my face is having a tougher time. But, amazon does give you time to return this thing, so if you want to, try it. If it doesn't work, back it goes, if it does, then you're set, so you don't have anything to lose.

EDIT: After the fourth shave I've had enough. The razor does a nice enough job on the face, but it murders anything below my jaw line. After two light passes with it on my neck I began bleeding and was left with a big red smile looking mark from one side of my neck to the other. Again. Also, with all the passes needed to actually cut the hairs, shaving with this razor took me FAR longer than with a blade, so back to blades I go. Apparently with a brush, rubbing alcohol, a dry cloth, and a dry place to store your razor you can extend the blade life by two to three times it's usual life. Sounds like that's what I'll be doing from now on. I really wanted this razor to be awesome and do what it said it does, but frankly it falls well short. I don't know who Panasonic is kidding when they talk about "one pass shaving".

Customer Review: Good Deal
I've only had this for a few days, but it's easily the best shave from an electric that I've ever had. Hard to beat now that it's $99. Goodbye Braun Activator...

Customer Review: Solid Razor
My facial hair is so thick that I always have a hard time finding a razor that lasts, but I've been using this for 7 months now and haven't had any problems. It has a very delicate feel on the face, but don't be fooled. It's a trimmin, choppin' machine that does provide a great close shave. With some of the other electric razors I've used, I always had to go over my face with a regular blade but this guy almost always gets everything - and if it doesn't, the handy trimmer can usually get the tricky spots. It even works pretty good on the neck!

The charger looks ridiculously big, but it also comes with a more travel friendly charger. I haven't really used the cleaning system, so if that's the selling point for you then you might actually think if you'll use it or not.

Overall it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.. and it's still cheaper than a couple months worth of blades.

Customer Review: Shiatse massage cushion
This is a very effective provider of relief for back pain due to deposits of folic and lactic acids. It really offers a gentle massage if you follow the directions, especially not lying or leaning too strong into the pad. Using a hot shower before the pad helps to speed up the process nicely. Customer Review: I love the Homedics massaging chair!
I had purchased this Homedics SBM-300H for my 83 year old father for Christmas last year, and he loves it. I've used it a few times while visiting him and decided to purchase one for my husband for Father's Day. The cushion has helped my dad's lower back pain quite a bit. After using it, he reports that he has more flexibility since the massaging tends to help loosen up his lower back muscles. I'm hoping that my husband will have the same results. Truth be known, I'm hoping to see some benefits myself. : )

Customer Review: Fabulous!
Of all the massage chairs or massage wands I've purchased, this one far exceeds my expectations. It's fantastic! I'm able to sleep better on those evenings in which aching muscles would otherwise keep me stirring.

Customer Review: Paid for itself in the first week!
Not much to say except I wish I would have purchased it long ago. It works. Only drawback is that if you are tall (6') your extreme upper back doesn't receive the full benefit of the rollers.

Customer Review: Great Feeling!
This cushion is a godsend for tight aching muscles. The only problem is that you never want to get up. The rollers are wonderful, but the shiatsu massage is fantastic. I recommend this item highly.

Customer Review: Panasonic pro-curve pivot
My DH says he is very happy with this shaver, since he is not one to give anything a good rating, that is saying a lot.

Customer Review: Best Electirc Razor Ever!
The ES8043SC Pro-Curve Linear is definately the best razor I have ever owned. This is based on 3 other panasonic models to compare. You can get the closest shave in the shortest time. It is quiet also, not like some other noisy razors in comparison. I would recommend it!

Customer Review: Good Shave.....But......
Alright there are plenty of good reviews here so I will keep mine quick and simple.

Pros:
1) It recharges fast, feels light and good grip.
2) The pivot head makes simple to shave around the neck.

Cons:
1) Feels cheap. I am comparing it with my Norelco.
2) Charger: Its HUGE! Again comparing to my Norelco.
3) Bag: Its the cheapest thing I've EVER seen. Useless. My Norelco came with a nice leather bag and had a tight fit around my razor.
4) No battery meter: Although it claims to have a 5 minute emergency charge.

With this said, I regret not getting the cheaper ES4026 that was highly recommended by consumer reports.

Customer Review: Not quite a blade
...but getting closer as I've used it over the last 30 days. Just like they advise, there is a transition time as your face becomes accustomed to the shaver (from using a 5 blade Gillette). A little "warm" feeling the first week.

I have a heavier beard than most, and I'd say this shaver comes pretty close to a blades performance. I'd used shavers in the past, but the shave never seemed to last past noon. So I've used blades for the last 15 years. I decided to gamble again, given I was about to purchase another 15 pack of blades for $40+ at Costco. So I figured it was worth a try since after about 6 months the costs would come out about the same as using a blade a week. I'm definitely satisfied, and not looking to go back to blades. Biggest complaint - I use it in the shower with shaving cream, and sometimes I miss fully getting a spot around the chin.

Customer Review: 5 minute shave
It take me five solid minutes to shave with this thing because the main blades do such a poor job on the neck area that I have to use the trimmer on this "tough" spot. I'd probably quit using this and go back to a regular razor, but I get awful razor burn on my neck from using a straight razor that I don't get nearly as bad with this item. I've been using this thing for eight months.

Customer Review: Not very durable
Very nice and usb sound card great but the headband broke and I had to tape it after a few months.

Customer Review: Great headset
Purchased this headset to get Dragon Naturally Speaking working.

The headset has exceeded my expectations. Dragon works now like I hoped it would when I bought it!

The construction of the headset seems pretty weak - but so far so good!

Customer Review: good headset bad amazon
In a nutshell, very good headset, bad amazon shipping service. The headsets sound and mic are great, as you would expect from Plantronics. The shipping service from Amazon is another matter though. The 'free' shipping was poor. First, it was late, which is really bad, given the rediculously long 'window' of time they allow themselves to get it to you. Taking weeks, instead of days, is poor even for the mail. And they dont give you a very obvious idea of exactly what service it will be shipped by. And the tracking link was worthless, as it would just show repeated lines saying 'scanned', which is useless information. I called and emailed customer service several times, and while prompt and courteous, they couldn't provide any additional information. To Amazon's credit, they shipped another unit free of shipping charges. But that was at my request and only after repeated contacts initiated by me, and after they told me several times to 'just wait another week, and were sure it will be there. Free shipping is just a marketing gimmick then, as it doesn't work well if they can take weeks in simple delivery. They tried to blame it on the service they use for delivery, but that is irresponsible as well as bad business as well.

Customer Review: Awesome Headset
I use this headset when I'm on skype and my voice comes in clear and I hear the other person beautifully. One problem I do have is that it doesn't stay on my head that well but I think someone else used it and stretched it so sometimes it feels like its loose. But, nevertheless, I am very satisfied with this headset! Definitely recommend it!

Customer Review: Foldable USB Headset
They work great, the sound is very clear. I use it at work for conference calls and webinars so I don't fold it up and take it with me.

Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System CE: Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System

Get ready to rock with Sony's MDR-IF240RK Wireless Stereo Headphones System! This complete kit which includes a Transmitter and Headphones offers features like its lightweight, open-air design, 30 mm Drive Units for deep bass, up to 60 hours of battery life with an optional alkaline battery or up to 35 Hours of Battery Life with the supplied NiHM Rechargeable Battery, and a Transmission Range up to 24 feet. Also utilize the Transmission Coverage Angle - up to 90 degrees. Permitting an easy connection to your home audio system, TV or VCR, the MDR-IF240RK provides a personal entertainment experience you can move to.

Customer Review: Wireless Headphone Review
I'm looking for products that last for years, so a review after less than 2 months is of limited value. For what its worth: These headphones work, so far. They are poorly designed in comfort and fit to head. Internal springs continually pull them back into their smallest configuration. They should stay where you adjust them to, unless another user readjusts. Specs substantially understate battery charging times. Re-chargeable battery is proprietary in design, forcing you to buy replacement from Sony, which is good for them, bad for us. I probably won't buy Sony again, unless they change allow generic replacement batteries. I would prefer an AC/adapter option for powering headphones, as an alternative to batteries. How green would that be?

Customer Review: No Complaints
I have no complaints in the few weeks that i have used the headphones. Battery life seems to be good, sound quality is great, and no complaints with the distance, but we have a smaller bedroom where distance is not a factor. They are also very easy to use.

Customer Review: horrible, just horrible
Bought this and its all crackly sounding unless I stand in one section of the room and for some reason its worse when the picture on the tv is brighter, so thats kind of a bad and worse scenario. Spend the money on a better head set.

Customer Review: Sony MDR-IF 240RK
Looking for an aid in watching TV, Spouse has hearing problem and needed higher audio levels that were uncomfortable for me.Read reviews, did some homework and settled on the Sony MDR 240. After 2 months we are very pleased with the product. Easy set up( under 10 minutes), excellent clarity and volumn control. We sit 9 to 11 feet from the TV, well within the published range and get super reception. With the IF system there is no interference issues from other wireless devices. The IF system sends out a cone shaped signal so you can do some limited walking in the same room with no audio interruption. Since you need line of sight,if you leave the room you loose the signal - no big deal since it works great for what we intended.Works so well we bought a second unit for the bedroom.

Customer Review: wireless headphones
Bought these headphones as a replace for same model for patient at nursing home. Found them to be very easy for him to handle. However, first set had better sound; second set had a low hum in background.

Customer Review: A great deal
I got these to use in the gym and I have been very happy with the quiet and the sound quality. I don't recommend them for on the street use, but if you want to keep out the noise on an airplane or a nearby aerobics class at the gym, these are a great deal. They are comfortable and have a nice case to keep them tidy. They may not match the sound quality of ones that cost two or three times as much but they are a huge improvement over what you normally get for this kind of money. After wasting money on sony and phillips headphones from Target, these ones have kept me happy for over a year now.
One suggestion: if you sweat a lot while using, it is good to let the earpieces dry out a bit before putting them away in their case.

Customer Review: Not perfect - but probably the best choice on the market right now
I bought the Sennheiser PX200 from Amazon after researching the various options and reading customer reviews of this model. My primary use is for them is on the bus back and forth to work. For this reason I chose this 'closed' model. My thoughts on these headphones, taking into account previous reviews:
- they are very comfortable to wear. My previous headphones were Ultimate Ears earbuds. The sound was better with the Ultimate Ears but they were less comfortable and after 1+ year of use my ears couldn't take them anymore.
- the PX200 blocks out background noise such as the engine noise of the bus well.
- the case that comes with it is clever and very useful but requires a little bit of practice learning how to put the headphones back in. Also it takes me (after a month of use) about 30-60 seconds to put them back in every time after use. I'm happy with the case though because I know they are protecting my purchase well.
- the cord is a bit longer than my previous headphones but not too long - I find the length ideal.
- the sound: as has been mentioned in previous reviews, the bass is weak while the mid-range is good. As I listen to rock and metal - this was initially dissappointing. However over time I was able to tweak the equalizer on my mp3 player to compensate for the weak bass and now I'm pleased with the bass and overall sound, especially at this price range. I'm sure another $100 would buy superior sound.

So overall I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend the PX200 to someone who wants to block out outside noise. Otherwise I would try the PX100. I gave the product only 4 stars out of 5 because the sound is good or maybe very good but not great.

Customer Review: Disappointing in the extreme
This was my third pair of Sennheisers. The previous two were just magnificent, so I was really looking forward to getting these to replace the PX100 I'd worn out.

The first pair, the sound was so tinny that I assumed that they were defective and sent them back for replacement. The second pair sound just as bad. The description borders on false advertising, since the bass response was practically non-existant. So now I'm debating to go back to the trusty PX100 or look for a non-Senn alternative.

Customer Review: All in all, it is a good one
At the same price, this one is a good choice.
Advantage is the part of the high pitch which is very clear.

Customer Review: I don't regret purchasing these headphones!
Bought these because my old Sony headphones were falling apart after 6 yrs. Looked at amazon for a new pair and decided to go with Sennheiser as I already had their earphones. Was debating whether or not to get these or the PX100, but personally, I feel that closed headphones are much better, honestly. Much more comfortable than my previous Sony headphones, that's for sure. Sound quality is clear and this has pretty decent bass. It's nice that it is collapsible: I'm definitely taking these when I go on a flight.

Nikon 7072 Lens Pen Cleaning System Photography: Nikon 7072 Lens Pen Cleaning System
Manufacturer: Nikon
Price: $10.95

Editorial Review: Product Description
Your binocular or telescope uses highly precise optics. It's important to keep them as clean as possible to assure the best performance. Nikon makes it really easy and simple with the Lens Pen Cleaning System.

Customer Review: Works Great!
I got these to have in my pocket for when I walk around at car shows or dusty areas that I can just take out the pen and open the brush and brush my lens off.

The other end has the cleaner/smudge removal pad and that works really well but I don't use it as much because I rarely touch the lens..

But it works great!

Another great product from Nikon.

Customer Review: Very nice - small, convenient and easy to use
This is one of those little items that make you wonder why it took so long to come out. Rather than fiddling with cleaning clothes that always seem to trap everything but the dust on your lens, this is a quick, convenient way to reach exactly where needed. Takes minimal space and is right where you need it when needed. Very satisified!

Customer Review: Works pretty good
Removes all but the most stubborn smudges and fingerprints safely. The brush end whisks away dust. Small enough to fit in your camera bag.

Customer Review: Cleans digital camera lens well
I used this on our Canon handheld camera. It cleaned off months-old children's fingerprint smudges after several cycles of cleaning as per directions.

Customer Review: They got it right
Nikon 7072 Lens Pen Cleaning System
This is my first use of a lens pen of any sort. I've read about them, but worried that ANYTHING that repeatedly came in to "brushing" contact with a camera lens might eventually pick up grit and scratch. However, based on lots of good feedback, and the low price, I decided to give it a try.

I used it first on my viewfinder glass and LCD glass. I have a real issue with greasy "face" prints and "thumb" prints on my 50D LCD. This pen took immediate care of the "grease" with light rubbing. I then tried it on a cheaper lens of mine, and it really seemed to leave it crystal clear. I haven't used it on my "L" glass yet, but probably will if I end up with a greasy print or water spots on it. For the most part, I shoot with a UV filter/protector cover on my "L" glass, and wouldn't hesitate to use this pen on such a filter.

This pen works well, but I wish they had put a cover on the brush end. It would be easy for contaminants to get to that end of the pen, and then for the user to inadvertently "wipe" the brush on a lens, and transfer the contaminant. I will be looking for a make-shift cover to pop over the brush end to keep it safe.

Nice product, and I'll probably buy another to use on my eye glasses (and LCD screen/viewfinder) as I don't want to use the one for my lenses on ANYTHING but my lenses.

Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset with Comfort Fit Headband CE: Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset with Comfort Fit Headband

The company shares their dream to live a fuller life by providing ways of working smarter and enjoying the rewards of technological advances.

Customer Review: Good sound but a little too tight
I like this headset. It lets me talk and listen without the disadvantages of using the speakerphone option on my phone. My only complaint is that the headband is a bit tight. I suppose a hair dryer and a little exercise could help with this. No, I don't have a large head. Mine is size 7 so if it's tight on me it'll be tight on most everybody.

Customer Review: Broke after about a dozen uses
The microphone stopped working after about a dozen uses. Amazon allowed me to print out a pre-paid shipping label which got me a full refund within a few days. One star for Panasonic. Five stars for Amazon!

Customer Review: Works Very Well
I am happy with this headset, this is my second one ordered and it works very well. However, I have to give it only 4 stars since my first one after one year, developed a short in the 2.5mm connector and it was unusable. I did not treat it roughly in any way. I thought I would give a new unit a second try so we will see.

Customer Review: Good for the money
The headphones fit pretty comfortably and the sound is also very good. There is static on the line from time to time, and some people have complained about not being able to hear me loudly. However, for the price, it works as well as anyone should expect. I would recommend this product as I use it pretty heavily for work.

Customer Review: Same Tune, Different Name
First off - let me start by saying that this item is certainly serviceable, practical and one of those things that you wonder (in a circumstance wherein you need the convenience of paws-free operation) how you ever lived without, before you had one.
That said, that was already the case when we had purchased the same exact item previously under several manufacturers' names (Uniden, Generic, etc).
The only difference, in this case, is that one pays more for the privelage of having the Panasonic brand slapped upon it.
We had no idea (judging solely by the photo and sparse description) that this was the *exact* same item.
I say that because, although this item is always very promising at first - it invariably develops a problem within the wiring (in particular the connection to the earpiece); causing intermittent sound and voice transmission (in short, a "short") - which, let's face it - is something of a major problem given the very nature and purpose of the product. This item is always used "gently" in our home... i.e. with care - so I believe that there should be some sort of stress-relief design employed at that point-of-connection to remedy this recurring adventure (as it seems to be an inherent weakness in the construction of the headset).
I'm giving this an "optimistic" 4 of 5 star rating - because we have only been using it for a matter of weeks. We're hoping that the Panasonic banner will make a difference somehow with this one. :)

Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black) CE: Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black)
Manufacturer: Sennheiser
Price: $49.95

Editorial Review: Product Description
Sennheiser is the acknowledged world leader in headphone-transducer technology. These CX 300 headphones are its first consumer ear-canal model. The CX 300 model is ideal for use with portable MP3, CD, MD, DVD players and many other portable devices with 3.5mm headphone sockets. Soft Silicone-Rubber Ear adapters in three different sizes are included to ensure a perfect fit, high wearing comfort and an excellent attenuation of ambient noise.

Customer Review: Very Good Value
These earbuds are very comparable to my Shure E2s. They lighter, cheaper and more comfortable than the E2s, but the cord is much shorter and thinner. I give the E2 the edge for sound quality, but not by a large margin. I'd use these if you have a problem with expensive things that disappear.

Customer Review: First impressions
Just got these yesterday. Coming from a Vmode headset, which the new puppy just chewed up the day I got the sennheiser set. So there is a God. When I first shoved them into my ear, I could tell that they weren't as good with my usual mp3 songs that I listen to. I could put my finger and push then in a little deeper into my ear and hear the bass a lot better. I decided to use some silicon ear buds instead of the cheap thin rubber ones that came with the headphones, and that made all the difference in the world. The silicon really helped. I think the bass bump is better with these, compared to the old ones.

OK, they have the, one side longer than the other side, which for me doesn't work. Also, the ear buds just have the wire running into them, with no plastic protection, but there is extra rubber up to the ear buds. But all in all, after 2 days, every thing seem to be good with them. I'll order another pair, because you just don't know when you'll need another headset, if the dog eats it.

I would give it 5 stars, but don't know how long the rubber will last around the wires, unlike the Sony set I had a while back, which didn't last that long.........Ray

Customer Review: For those who say this has a 'tinny' sound
If you end up getting these earbuds, they will sound a little 'tinny' at first. The diaphragm needs to 'burn in' for 50+ hours. Some say more, some say less, others say the burn-in process never ends, and still others say it doesn't make any difference. I can hear a distinct difference in the richness and 'warmth' of these earbuds since I first started using them. After the first 20 hours the tin had gone, and by 100 hours, the bass filled out. They sound amazing.

If you have a return policy anyway, why notjust burn them in for a few days? [...] I use the pink noise, but any will do. Set the file to repeat and let it run through the earbuds each night or while you sleep. It really works.

The thing that seems to disappoint the people who are dissatisfied with Sennheiser products is the bass isn't BOOMing when their listening to their music...which is fine, but a proper bass response won't boom like you hear in those cars with their subwoofers blasting or that is commonly hyped in some musical styles. It should have deep resonance, but be a tight sound. Sennheiser has an excellent frequency response across the 20-20k range +/- as does Klipsch (merely my opinion).

If you're looking for some more surreal boom in that bass, checkout Sony MDR EX75, or some v-moda models. If you're an audiophile on a budget, and if you're considering spending $[...] on earbuds, that's probably who you are, get these, burn them in, and enjoy. They are worth it if great sounding music is important to you.

Customer Review: indestructable and superb sound quality
I have had a pair of these for almost four years now and have been using it almost everyday and its still intact. Sennheiser products are known for their longevity and quality. As for sound quality, it sounds great. i still have yet to hear a pair of in-ear headphones that sound better (at least to my ears). you just have to use the right size rubber plug for your ear and you are good to go.

Customer Review: Warning: Asymmetrical Cord!
Be warned. It isn't mentioned in the product description, but these headphones are asymmetrical. So annoying. The shorter ear bud cord keeps pulling out, while the longer ear bud cord dangles and gets caught on everything.

Customer Review: Great Big Wheel, but does cause pain
I purchased this big wheel for my 3 year old daughter. We already own the Twist big wheel by Radio Flyer, which is a wonderful big wheel, and in my opinion better than this one.I didn't get another since my daughter liked her older brother's (4YO) big wheel low rider part and didn't need the tricycle part, plus we already had one. This was easy for me to put together. It does have a longer leg length than the Twist big wheel so now my son rides this one, and my daughter rides his. My daughter is tall for her age. It is just enough of a length that my daughter isn't comfortable yet. As one other review said, the back of the seat does hurt their back. In fact they both had three bruises on their backs after riding this. My husband ended up wrapping the back of the seat in several layers of duck tape and it has fixed the problem. We aren't sure what part was hurting their back because it isn't obvious, but it is fixed now. So just be aware of that. Overall the big wheel is great and used daily here! Seems very sturdy and the flag is cool.In hind site, I should of gone with another Twist and Trike(?) by Radio Flyer, because I have had it for over a year and that is their favorite (no pain).

Customer Review: Fun and great exercise
My 5 year old grandson's mouth dropped when we gave him this Big Flyer and he hasn't gotten off of it since. Everytime we stop by the house he tells us how much he loves it. I love that the seat is easily adjustable to fit his 7 year old brother and 3 year old sister. They all love it.

Customer Review: Perfect for those that love to ride
My child is on his 2nd big wheel and this one is great. Easy to put together, durable, and so far showing no signs of wear.

Customer Review: Awesome!!!
My 5 year old son received the Big Wheel for his 5th birthday. After returning it once for missing parts I finally got it assembled. He loved it when we gave it to him UNTIL he tried to ride it. My son only weighs 46 lbs and upon sitting on it for the FIRST time the forks holding the front wheel collapsed and the bike folded. It was unusable. This is not the "Big Wheel" of my childhood. They were indestructibe (I tried when I was his age). I don't know how they can use the Big Wheel name. This is a cheap Chinese piece of dung. Target was gracious enough to return it for a full refund.

Now for the Radio Flyer. We bought this on Amazon for the same price the stores wanted, but with free shipping and no tax. Assembly wasn't that bad, just follow the pictures (no words). When my son rode it, he was like lightning!!! He loves it and rides it almost every day. He goes fast and turns to spin and laughs crazily. This bike is VERY stable and does not tip over, even at high speeds. It is very durable and actually has some METAL parts, I know, unheard of right?

Buy the "Radio Flyer" if you are even thinking about this kind of toy. You won't regret spending the extra few bucks.

St. Louis, MO

Customer Review: Seems like a good bike...
...but our 2-year-old son is a little young for it. We wanted to get him a Big Wheel but heard that their quality has gone downhill, so we got this instead. Unfortunately, his feet don't reach the petals. It seems sturdy, though.

Customer Review: Worked great for what we needed
Bought this along with a bounce house castle. Blew it up suprisingly fast. LOUD. But works good... Plug it in and go

Customer Review: pool pump
Very good pump to fill up rafts for pool. Very easy to use. Prompt shipping

Customer Review: Works well
Arrived 1 day earlier than the estimated delivery date.

We used it to inflate our Jump-o-lene transperant ring bouncer - it took about 20-25 mins.

Comes with several size nozzles, but we just needed one.

The only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating is because the hose has developed creases (perpendicular to the rings) and I am worried that it will soon be unusable, in which case we could try to attach the nozzle directly to the pump.

Apparently it even deflates, but haven't used it till now.

Customer Review: Vacuum in reverse!
This little pump ia a vacuum cleaner in reverse. A good solution for filling an air matress or air-filled toy. Nice long electrical cord, and several plastic end-fittings to fit different applications.

It's as noisy as an inexpensive vacuum cleaner, but makes up for the noise by being pretty fast.

Customer Review: ELECTRIC PUMP
Less than thrilled with this product. while it is good for some things.. I found it difficult to blow up my exercise balls.. Only got half way.. It's probably best for small things like beach balls and bike tires..

Customer Review: LOVE IT!
It's HUGE! We have a 33' round above ground pool and this float is perfect for it. My husband and I can float around the pool and talk without looking around for eachother. The cooler isn't in the way and is great for putting drinks or towel, phone, etc in but know that the lid does not fit properly. The float would be great out on the river as many have said but it's just as wonderful in our backyard pool!

Customer Review: Tube Float
Perfect for two people to use tubing down the river. it had a small storage compartment to add either drinks with ice or keep your items dry. nice mesh bottom to keep you from sinking in the middle of the tube. also very affordable.

Customer Review: Rawkin
This was awesome! I bought it for the river, and thought you could maybe 2 or 3 beers in it. I was wrong! You can put an entire case in. It's huge! The only down side is you're really far out of the water- and it's hard to get back in if you are in deepish water (Especially if the water is moving) But all in all, really durable, and really fun. We had 9 people there, and everyone wanted to be in the tube. We're going to have to get another one!

Customer Review: River fun!
I love my river raft! We used this last weekend and even got a fishing lure stuck. We put on the fix and kept on going! We plan to spend our weekends floating on the river. A great time!

Customer Review: Totally fun and comfy....
We took these tubes on a 7 mile float and within the first 15 minutes we both hit the same big stump in the middle of the river - thought for sure we popped them but NO, they weathered the battering just fine! One of them got a trebble hook embedded in it and was slowly losing air but we had the patch kit with us and used it on the side of the river and it worked like a charm. The boston valve even allows you to blow them up with your mouth in case you need to. These are totally comfortable to float for 7 hours in but if you think your ice will last for that long, think again...

Customer Review: Not bad for the price.
They work as described but get hot after a while. Also the batteries are pain to put in/change out.

Customer Review: I don't usually review items but I feel I must this time
I purchased model 97044 Peltor hearing protector based largely on the reviews I read here. This is quite possibly the worst hearing protection I have ever used. I wrote this unit off as a lemon or part of a bad batch. However, I was at my local shooting range this past weekend when a gentleman approached me because he noticed that I was wearing the same brand that he had. We compared notes and realized that we both had the same issues. They are as follows.

1. The battery location and replacement procedure is ill considered and lends itself to the possibility of damage to the unit when accessing the battery compartment.
2. The location and orientation of the on/off/volume knob, specifically the right side, causes the right unit to be inadvertently activated when the unit is folded for storage. Thus draining the batteries in that unit between uses. This has happened twice.
3. The function of the unit during the first use was good. All subsequent uses have seen a severe decline in quality of the electronics of the unit. My unit crackles and pops. The other gentleman's does not work at all and he feels that he gets very little protection.
4. The actually Db reduction is somewhat suspect.

That all said, a friend has one of the other, more expensive models, that he is happy with thus far. I really don't know if I'm willing to give this company more of my money in hopes that there is light ahead. I really hope this helps everyone who is considering this model.

Caveat emptor!

Customer Review: Peltor w/ Popping...
I ordered these as a buddy of mine has had a pair for 18 months now & raves about them. I used them twice, each with a 'popping' or 'static noise' occuring every few seconds, which got worse over time even with new batteries (ding 1st star). I returned them & considering a better set of Peltor... but REALLY like the compact nature of these - decisions, decisions. Interesting note: Each time I took them apart after use, the internal components were quite damp from normal perspiration. This may have been the cause of increasing static/popping, but should have design components to address this (ding 2nd star)... If you buy these, I'd suggest letting them fully air out after use in the heat.

Customer Review: Not as good as advertised
Got the hearing protector and read the instructions to install the batteries. What a PITA to get apart. Installed the batteries on each side and the left side is fair but the right side does not work. I emailed the comapny and have not heard back. Save you money and get something else.

Customer Review: I can hear!
This is quite different than I expected. In none of the reviews I read did anyone mention being able to hear the brass drop (probably could hear a pin drop). Many things can not be heard when you put on hearing protection and I didn't know what I was missing. I bought the Tac 6 because they were cheaper and I had no idea if I would like them or not. Knowing how much I like them, I would probably have bought the Tac 7 (I am the type to buy the best when it is going to be used long term - 5+ year). These can also be used with any loud outdoor noise when protection is needed.

Customer Review: Very nice radio
[...]

I have been considering purchasing some form of 2-way radio for some time and looked at all the FRS/GMRS radios but was very annoyed by the outrageous claims that you can practically talk to the moon. I had a CB radio about 10 years ago with a K40 antenna and remember that the range averaged around 10 miles down here in the SC Lowcountry. I could get 40 - 50 miles if I got down near the water. So I went looking at CB's. After much research and consideration of all the radios available I purchased the 75 WX ST. The main reason is that the mounting options in a Toyota Tacoma is very limited. I received the radio today and was immediately impressed with the solid feel of the unit. I did a quick hook up by plugging it into a battery jump box after attaching a cigarette lighter adapter to the power leads and then plugging in an antenna.

The sound quality is more that adequate, be sure to take the sticker off the front that covers the speaker holes.

The controls are nicely laid out and pretty easy to get at. The "microphone" is somewhat larger that a standard CB microphone but not too large. The controls can be used either right or left handed.

The backlight is nice and bright and the display easily viewed from any angle.

The Sound Tracker function does a good job of pulling the audio out of the background noise.

Because all CB radios are essentiallty the same with respect to output power I have no doubt that this radio will have transmitting range on par with my previous radio. The quality of any radio transmission is very much dependent on a good antenna/coax with the antenna proprely mounted and tuned. Just connecting a cheap[..]magnetic mount antenna to the radio without adjusting the SWR will make the best radio into a piece of crap.

Buy this radio and hook it up properly and you will be happy.

Customer Review: Citizen's Band
Easy to install, convenient to use. Not as powerful as I expected; but, it is adequate.

Customer Review: New Cobra
After years away from using a C.B. Decided to once again give it a try.
The 75 is a very good well designed compact unit offering all the features without the clutter. Only thing missing is a P.A. jack if you are so inclined.
Easy install.Great if space is limited.

Customer Review: Great purchase
I drive a Jeep Liberty and lets just say they aren't known for their extra leg room or any other kind of room. I really wanted to have a CB because of the nature of my work but felt limited due to space. I didn't want to stick a radio on the passenger side like everyone suggests because I knew it would be in my wife's way when she rides with me. I got the 75 and it has been great. I mounted the connection box between the passenger seat and the center console. From there i have plenty of cable with the radio to hang it just under the passenger side air vent. I got an external speaker but really don't need it. The Jeep is a little noisy but I can hear the radio just fine, even better than the external speaker. I have a cheap mag mount antenna on the roof and I'm pulling in conversations around ten miles away.
Great, great, great purchase.
The weather channel is handy too.
I really like the "dual watch" capability which allows me to monitor two channels or I can scann through all 40.
Buy this one. It may not be fancy but it gets the job done.
I work with the Highway Patrol and they often put this unit in their cars.

Customer Review: Outstanding radio
Cobra has always produce excellent equipment. This one eliminated the need to mount the typical radio under the dash or eat up alot of other space.

2 Pack, #1, Black, S-Biner Is A Double-Gated, Carabiner Style Clip, Allows The User To Store Items On 1 Side & Clip With The Other, Holds 5 LB, Not For Climbing.

Customer Review: Handy
I use them to attach my car key and micro tool to my main key ring. They are very hand but I do have one nit pick. I wish the tension on the wire gates were a bit more. Sometimes things unintentionally become unclipped because of the lack of tension.

Customer Review: Wrong size, otherwise great
Despite the title, this is actually size #1, not size #2. Pretty big difference, although they're still useful. They're working out fairly well, so I think I will go ahead and pick up a pack of size #2 as well.

Xbox 360 Over Ear Headset Video Games: Xbox 360 Over Ear Headset
Manufacturer: Plantronics
Price: $19.99

Editorial Review: Product Description
The GameCom X10 delivers an alternate over-the-head style and sports the green and black color scheme of the Xbox console. The X10 are for use with the Xbox Communicator but are sold separately, making it easy for current Xbox Live users to customize their console set-up with their choice of headset.

Customer Review: Excellent Headset
I have tried numerous headsets for the 360 and this is by far the sturdiest and longest-lasting.

Customer Review: not great but not the worst
The xbox 360 over ear headset is actually really good its not like turtle beaches overall but its way better than an xbox 360 microsoft headset if you would want to buy this headset I would suggest it if your not the biggest gamer but like to play for fun..if you take the game seriously this mic is not for you.

Customer Review: Works Properly, Just Ugly
As a cheap headset, it works perfectly. I just don't really like the aesthetics of it. It is comfortable though.

Customer Review: The kids love it
I purchased two of them for my boys. They seem to love them. They say it's much better than the Microsoft one that they originally were using. We had one of the Microsoft headsets fall apart.

Customer Review: works very well
I got this from plantronics and they were very good with it. It works so much better than the one x box gives you. Mine broke due to my own fault and I sent it back and got a new one within a week. Everything went really smooth and I highly recommend this item to save money instead of buying a wireless headset.

  • Completely customized set-up.

  • Sturdy, all-metal kick drum pedal.
  • Professional design from Alesis, one of the largest electronic drum manufacturers in the world.
Game Critics Awards Winner
Rockband, which took the gaming world by storm in late 2007, was followed by the highly-anticipated sequel, Rockband 2 that was released in September of 2008. With Rockband 2 came Ion's Drum Rocker Set, which quickly took the Game Critics Awards top spot in 2008's Best Peripheral/Hardware category.

Professional-Grade Aluminum Rack and Pads
While other drum controllers force you to use their configuration with a pre-molded, plastic array, the Drum Rocker's professional-grade aluminum rack lets you position your snare, tom and cymbal pads the way you want. Not only can you play your hi-hat with a right-hand crossover by placing your cymbals anywhere around your kit, but by mounting your pads to the drum rack with the included metal L-arm and clamp system, you can tilt, swivel, raise and lower the cymbals to whatever position you want.

Drum Rocker's velocity-sensitive drum pads feature an ultra-quiet playing surface and a more natural and consistent stick rebound than your average pad. The pad housing is made of a hi-impact plastic, which means that no matter how much you punish them night after night, they will always be ready for more.

The Drum Rocker's all-metal kick drum pedal is also designed to take abuse. It offers the perfect amount of tension to replicate the feeling of a real drum pedal. And keeping in line with its set-up flexibility, the kick drum pedal comes with Velcro and retractable spikes, allowing you to place it in the most comfortable position.

Go Beyond Gaming into Real Music
Built by the engineers at Alesis, one of the largest manufacturers of professional electronic drums in the world, the Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set delivers the most realistic drumming experience available to a gamer.

But when you're ready to move from playing the game to playing in a real life, you can swap the game controller module with one of the professional drum brains made by Alesis, such as their DM5 drum module, or any other drum brain that accepts a quarter-inch output. (Drum modules are sold separately.) And with the option of purchasing a third cymbal, you can round out your kit and move beyond gaming and onto the stage.

The Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set is compatible with both Rockband and Rockband 2 for the Xbox 360.

The Drum Rocker comes with cymbals, kick pedal, and drum pads.
View cymbal, kick pedal, and drum pad.

What's in the Box:
Aluminum drum rack, 4 drum pads, 2 cymbals, drum pedal, all mounting hardware and connecting cords, and 2 drumsticks.

Customer Review: Only way to play Rock Band
If you really want the best scores and most fun with Rock Band...the Ion drum set is a must. Adding the third cymbal also makes it feel like you are really playing the drums. The set is sturdy and the pads are incredibly responsive. Set up and adjusting to your playing style will take some time but definitely worth it in the end.

Customer Review: Almost Perfect
I received my Drum Rocker yesterday and, after nearly six hours of straight play, I can tell you that I haven't the slightest bit of buyer's remorse (I played both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour). The $299 price tag can be tough to swallow but if you want the best possible drumming experience while playing a band game, this is it.

Now, I must tell you that I am not a professional drummer by any stretch of the imagination. I'm getting pretty good at the games, but outside of that I've never touched a drum set. Even so, I felt stifled by the Guitar Hero World Tour (herein referred to as GHWT) drum set. My main problem was that the flimsy pedal was keeping me from completely moving up to Hard on drumming. I did some research on upgrade pedals and it was going to cost me $120+ to get a decent pedal that was compatible with the GHWT drum kit (most upgrade pedals are only compatible with RB2 drum kits). For that, I figured I may as well spend the few extra bucks and get a whole deluxe drum kit.

That's enough story. Let's get on to the review. I'm going to break this up into parts so that it flows a little better.

SETUP:
Setting up the drum kit was fairly straightforward and easy. It takes about an hour due to all of the pieces but it's a one-man job and not at all complicated. The pieces are all clearly marked and the intructions are written in plain english with big colorful diagrams. My biggest gripe would be the mess of wires. Each individual drum and cymbal has it's own wire (to connect it to the "brain", which is the XBox controller that sits in the middle of the kit). These wires are significantly longer than they need to be and so you'll have to spend some time trying to wrap them up and hide them. The kit does come with quite a few zip ties for you to do this and it'll only take you about five minutes, but it's still annoying. While speaking of wires, I should also mention that this kit is NOT wireless and requires you to plug it into the XBox in order to play.

Another thing worth mentioning is the size and weight difference between this kit and the standard RB2 and GHWT kits. This kit probably weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-40 pounds, while the other kits might be around 10 pounds. You won't be picking this thing up with one arm and tossing it into the corner. It's also roughly 1.5 to 2 times bigger. If you have a small living room (like I do) storing this thing away is a nightmare. They say you can fold it up for easy storage and, yes, that's true. But folding it up requires you to untighten the screws from every piece you want to "fold" and then retighten the screws when the piece is in it's folded position. That can be pretty time consuming and nobody wants to move the pieces around once they've found their most comfortable setup. That solution is a little unrealistic if you plan to use this drum kit frequently.

DRUM PADS:
Man, these things are sturdy. Each individual pad weighs a couple of pounds and the strike zone is made of a rubbery/leathery material. I don't imagine this thing breaking down anytime soon. My GHWT kit started flaking after playing a few songs and you can actually rub off flakes from the strike zone when you touch it. That won't be happening with this kit. The pads are also 100% accurate. I've yet to drop a note and it picks up every hit no matter how far off to the edges I am.

CYMBALS:
I've read quite a few complaints about the cymbals but they honestly work great for me. They're registering every hit and don't have any issues with double-registering a single hit. Yes, they are stiff, so you won't be able to strike through (one of the more common complaints) but I just tilt the cymbals downward which allows me hit the edge and drop my arm back down to the drum pads in a fluid motion. If you leave them level then, yes, you'll have to hit the cymbal and then work your drumstick around it to get back to the drum pads.

I should also note that the cymbals are pretty much optional. There's no difference between hitting the green cymbal or the green drum pad when playing the game. A hit on green is a hit on green. So the cymbals are really for decoration and play style preference. They do sell an add on cymbal so that you can have three (the kit only comes with two) but I don't see much need for that. I imagine it would obstruct my view of the television and won't add much to the kit beyond aesthetics. Again, it all depends on how you like to play.

My big gripe about the cymbals is that you can have a cymbal for every color except for red. So for lefties like myself the experience will be a little different than it is for righties. When playing right-handed you can bang the green cymbal at the end of your drum fills in RB2 but, playing lefty, your only option is to bang the red drum pad. So, in that aspect, this kit doesn't fully support the "lefty flip".

PEDAL / DRUMSTICKS:
This is the category that made me give this kit only four stars. The pedal is awful. It's made completely out of metal, so it probably won't break on you too quickly, but the feel of it is just terrible. There's virtually no resistance when pushing the pedal down and it sounds like a door hinge. I'm going to end up having to upgrade to a Rock Pedal.

The drumsticks were also a let down. They were pretty rough cut and the wood was splintering at the bottom. I played a few songs with them and just couldn't get comfortable. As a result, I've been playing with the gimmicky Rock Band 2 aftermarket drumsticks (see Rockband Rubber Tip Drum Sticks - Yellow Flames). What I like about those is that they come with rubber caps to put on the end of the drumsticks. This really dampens the sound of you hitting the drum and lets you focus more on the music coming from the television.

OVERALL FEELING:
Great drum kit. Playing RB2 and GHWT with this kit is a totally different experience. You might be put off by the $299 price tag but when you put them next to your GHWT or RB2 drum kit, both of which sell for nearly $100, you'll be able to easily justify the price difference. It's three times the price for ten times the quality. But don't forget the other little things that you may want to buy that will cost you extra:
- Upgraded bass pedal: $70+
- New drumsticks: $10 - $15
- Drum throne: $45 - $50
- Third cymbal: $50

This premium setup gets expensive fast! But, if you're serious about drumming like a rock star and can afford a little discretionary spending, I believe you'll be satisfied with your purchase.

Customer Review: Scary fun!
I was a bit nervous ordering this drum kit because I was afraid of Ion's tech support which, from other reviews, seems to be terrible. I took a chance and put my money on Amazon to help me if anything went wrong.

I've had this kit for 2 months now and it is unreal with Rock Band! On our weekend jam sessions I used to sing because my buddies don't care to. I've put down the mic in preference for playing the drums now! It's so much fun.

The kit is extremely sturdy and yes, takes about 40 minutes to put together. The construction is good, combining metal and plastic. The drum pads are very responsive and we beat the hell out of them. I've heard the bass pedal is sub-par from other reviews but I find it adequate... maybe a bit noisy. I've got a Rocker Pedal on order so we'll see how that goes.

Once you're up and running there's really nothing you have to do within the game, it's plug and play. I immediately took it to the free for all drum trainer in Rock Band and went nuts with it. You actually feel like you're really drumming, very cool. After two months of abuse it's still kicking just fine, there's obvious markings on the drum heads but that's expected. Knock on wood this set will continue to rock.

If you've got the money and you're still using the stock drums, set them aside and get this kit.

Customer Review: Ion Drum Rocker
I have been thinking about buying this for a while now and pulled the trigger on it about a month ago. There is no comparison between it and the regular drums. Way better in every way. I haven't had any issues with the cymbals, pads are much better quality, great right of the box. The only issue i have is that that the foot pedals sticks slightly if I press it down at an angle. I really need to play a lot more to tell if it is really an issue or not. [...].

Customer Review: Why on Earth did I wait so long?
I kicked around the idea of purchasing this for several months before pulling the trigger. I suppose I was skeptical because of the high price tag, like what if it sucks, did I just waste $300? Well, I'm pretty critical of things, and a real stickler for quality and I'm extremely impressed by this product. I was at Sam Ash last week playing on the Roland TD-9 (MSRP $2500) and I really liked it. I thought, man that was a bad idea, my ion drum rocker is going to feel Fisher-Price like after that. To my amazement, it's very sturdy and for a product that's 12% the price it feels to be about 50% of the quality (That's a win in my book). There are ways to rig a Roland setup into your XBOX, but it's not worth the money.

Where was I going with this? Oh yes, you're reading this wondering should I buy, and I would say most definitely. The overall feel of this drum set, the recoil, the bass pedal, the cymbals... the fact that everything can be adjusted (angle / height of drum heads) is amazing. It takes a game that I loved playing before and makes it 10x more enjoyable.. Rockband 2 is just Soo much fun now, this drumset is a real treat to play on. I'm just upset that I waited so long to pick one up.

Fuel Video Games: Fuel
Manufacturer: Codemasters
Price: $59.99

Editorial Review: Product Description
Fuel is set in an alternate present in the world has been ravaged by the effects of climate change brought on by decades of environmental abuse. Oil prices have sky rocketed and a new breed of racing junkies takes to the wastelands, pitting their home-tuned vehicles against each other in an all-new extreme sport as they compete to win fuel supplies. To triumph means travelling the wastelands to challenge the best, from the tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, abandoned lakeside resorts and much more.

Fuel features a no-boundaries playfield that's over 5,000 square miles in size, which creates the ultimate racing experience, compete across different terrains and execute spectacular death-defying stunts, as you race dozens of two and four-wheeled rides.

Customer Review: Easily the most disappointing game of 2009, so far....
I have a long and fun history with Codemasters published racing/driving titles starting back many years ago when Codemasters titles were NOT available in the USA and had to be ordered from European importers.

One of my first and still favorite Codemasters games was "Insane Racing" which FUEL appears to be the spiritual sequel to. "Insane Racing" was open world like FUEL, but was fun and accessible.

The first thing I noticed was just how awful the graphic are in FUEL. They are so bad that at night or at dusk/sunrise, you can't see well enough to drive and avoid obstacles. I kept ending up in the ocean.

Another thing that I found was that the handling of the vehicles was a joke... I wasn't expecting something approaching simlike, but these vehicles aren't even fun to drive.

I think the designers sacrificed a lot of quality just to have a large racing area. What good is a large racing area if the actual racing in any of it isn't fun or enjoyable?

[...]

Sorry, but this one is pure rubbish. Avoid like the plague.

Customer Review: Had potiental of being a great game... Had!
From what was portrayed in the cinimatic teasers for fuel, was deception of what the game really possesses. Though the size of the play area is one for video game record books, it doesn't have the capability to carry this lackluster of a game. In my perspective, codemasters devoted entirely too much time in the shaping and molding the map, and not nearly as much time on the cars and sounds. There'S absolutely no phyics in driveabilty whats-so-ever. This is a dissapointment in following a great game like Grid. This make believe enviroment might have actually felt somewhat real, if the cars, buggy's, trucks, and bikes actually drove with just a little bit realism. I'm not asking for a complete simulation, but couldn't you have given codemaster fans something similar to grid?

Which brings me to my next point. The sounds on this game are so horrible that it will seriously remind you of a PS2 video game sound. There are no distintive sounds, and you will most definitely hear the same exact sound everytime your bike or car cathces some air. I was hoping the muscle cars would at least sound like "a muscle car", nope I was wrong and very let down. It's funny how ever single ride makes the same ticking sound when revving your engine. Also, all the rides just seem slow, it says your hitting a 100, but it feels like 40 miles per hour.

The weather was somewhat satisfying, I can't really complain about the day and night cycle with weather changes. But as it was shown in the trailer... I have yet to see a tornado swarn down on side of the road in the middle of a race. I have yet to see any explosions from cars flippig and blowing up. Also it seems to rain more than anything in this game, I was showing my girlfriend the free roam, and she tells me I hate who ever thought about the amount of rain that falls.

I was very impressed with the size of the map, the different roads, change of scenery, and most imporatantly... no loading times in-between areas. But again this pro can not make this a great game, I might have actually enjoyed my road trip from one end of the map to the other if I had a car that was believeable. I stress how unimpressed I was with the controls and handling of the cars, you would expect codemasters to take it to the next level after giving us grid, but now they decide to pull their punches on this one.

This game is definitely a renter and not a purchase for full retail price. No way, you will become very bored of not being able to crash, drive with a cockpit view inside the car, or run away from a chaotic tornado. I advise you rent first if you are still undecided, better to spend 8 bucks then 60 and be stuck with it.

Customer Review: Where are the Replays
I can't find the replay views! That is a negative! The idea of driving freely is different and fun! Doesn't have much of a point, yet! I'll keep playing to figure out game. The neat part of this game is the vehicles.

Customer Review: Good but not Great.
The game is ok.. Kinda fun but gets old after a while. I say rent it then buy it or get it used.. Pure I thought was more fun.

Customer Review: FUEL: Fun in an ATV OFFROAD FURY kind of way
FUEL quick Review (progress: 2nd base unlocked)

VEHICLES: 8/10 The handling is good, but the motorcycles are the most responsive. The emergency brake is effective and useful. When the stats show a vehicle is meant for offroad or asphalt, it's true. A road vehicle will struggle offroad, but as soon as it hits the road, acceleration kicks in as well as better handling. As you continue to unlock and buy more vehicles with Fuel points, you'll notice faster, better handling vehicles start showing up compared to the slow ones at the start. Overall, responsive controls, nice enough physics and plenty of interaction with the environment with varying terrain and jumps. You start the game with a free ride choice of a buggie or a dirtbike, and can quickly earn an ATV and car on the first zone. Finish the first zone, and 21 vehicles or so will be available to buy with your Fuel dollars, including Monster trucks, new motorcycles, buggies, ATV's and cars. Very nice.

GAMEPLAY: 7/10 For the fastest progress, use the MENU and win the 3 races on Rookie, then jump into the Challenges and complete them. Each time you win first, you get Fuel Credits (and Fuel dollars). The credits offer access to the next Shack Base on the giant map. Unlocking new rides is a highlight of the game.

RACES: 8/10 So far, they're the most enjoyable part of the game. The competition does seem to get a fast start, but you'll catch up fairly quickly, where after that, you can take the lead. Rookie mode is very forgiving, Expert is average difficulty and Pro is tough. The guide arrows are a big help. The biggest complaint? You can't pick your ride (so far anyway).

CHALLENGES: 7/10 Chase the Helicopter is fun, along with a few others, except for the Blitz/CHECKPOINT race, which for whatever reason, they barely give you enough time to work with on the clock. Took plenty of retries to win. No option to change difficulty in Challenges.

GAMEWORLD MAP: 9/10 Enormous. If you're just going to explore, it will take a long time as the reviewer said it would. You can go anywhere in the entire game right from the start in free ride, but you won't be able to unlock any checkpoints or rewards really until you win races and challenges.
You can pick a dirtbike or Dune Buggie from the start of the game and just explore. The terrain to cover gradually changes as you progress, offering new visuals from deserts, waterfronts, mountains, snow, thick forests, wastelands, winding roads, plains and more. The game is seriously massive in scale.

REWARDS: 9/10 Winning races/challenges and reaching new checkpoints in your local zone that you've already unlocked will earn you Fuel points which are needed to unlock new base/shack zones with new races and challenges, Fuel Dollars, to buy new rides that are unlocked by winning enough times, and gear for your rider. The rider gear and paint for your rides is a nice touch that could've been overlooked, but wasn't. It's not very in-depth in customization like Midnight Club, but it's welcome nonetheless. The new rides are affordable and a noticeable improvement on the first set of rides.

CAMERAS: 7/10 Three cameras to click through while riding, the default being the most advantageous during racing, since it gives you a better view of the action. But for exploration, the up close 2nd camera is very nice, really showcasing the detail of your rider and vehicle, bringing you closer to the action. The third view is first person, which is solid and looks even better when you see your vehicle shadow, giving you the sense you're almost in the vehicle, but really, this game should have also included an INTERIOR DASH VIEW, to really get the sense you're inside a vehicle instead of looking at a remote control toy. Overall, good camera views to experience the game world with.

OPTIONS: 4/10 There needs to be more options. You can't map the layout of your controls, there's no way to adjust the day/night cycle or set the time of day in free ride, but thankfully, you can adjust the sound, HUD displays, and a few other minor options for the game.

DAY/NIGHT CYCLE: 5/10 Count 12 minutes of daytime, then realize the entire world takes well over 3 hours or so just to reach the other end. That means every 12 minutes you're riding in moonlight darkness, missing all the scenery during exploration. During races, it's automatically set, which is fine. There seriously needs to be a way to set Constant DAY TIME, Constant Night time, or DUSK/DAWN at the very least to really enjoy what scenery this game is offering. At night, all the details are neglected but for your headlight view.

MULTIPLAYER ONLINE: Unfortunately, I haven't played it online yet, but hear it's good.

GRAPHICS: 7/10 The first time I plugged the game in, the gritty look to the graphics, which appear a bit sharp with very high contrast, didn't appeal to me right away. Night time reminded me of a PS2 game at times, a bit oversaturated and flat looking, but the daytime graphics, once you get used to the high sharpness level, are pretty good for such a giant game world. Just don't expect the detail and realism of DIRT or GRID, which are really refined graphically. Good graphics during the daytime overall. The vehicles look nice, with mud building up if you hit the wet dirt. Characters really can be seen best when riding the motorcycle.

SOUND: 7/10 The vehicles each have a unique engine sound, but once you hit top speed, the constant tone seems a bit dull after awhile. Overall though, the engines sound realistic. Some wind can be heard, with crickets at night. Impacting the ground uses the same thud each time it seems, but I still have much more to discover.

OVERALL: 8/10 The racing isn't revolutionary, but it's fun in an ATV OFFROAD FURY kind of way and is enjoyable. The scale of the map world delivers and offers plenty of variety if you have the patience to explore it, but I suggest playing the races first to see what the game can offer in terms of gameplay and fun. I still have to find a city to explore, as the game is enormous. It was a bit dull before starting the races, but now that I'm finally making progress unlocking new rides, outfits and reaching new checkpoints to new races, the game is fun. Give it enough play time to unlock new rides and you may enjoy it despite the harsh reviews.

Customer Review: A lot of potential.
I am a weather junkie. Whether its storm chasing, photographing the weather, watching storm documentaries, reading weather related books, surfing weather related websites or just relaxing on my back porch while storms go raging by, I always have been and always will be a weather junkie. So as you can imagine when I saw this piece of software for my beloved Mac, well I just couldn't resist. This was actually the runner up in the Best Mac OS X User Experience category for the 2005 Apple Design Awards. The Apple design awards are always reliable, in other words if an application even gets nominated then you can be assured its at the top of the class and surely deserving of your purchase. So anyways it was the Apple Design Awards that tipped me off to this product and I purchased it immediately. I have now been using this app for close to 4 years and the bottom line is that this is an fantastic app.

If you do some research on this product you will see that it gets its fair share of low scores. You will hear people complaining that everything this app offers is already available for free on the net. You will hear horror stories about people not being able to connect to the weather service and last but not least you will hear people complain that it just isnt deep enough. Now I can only rate my experience with this product and my experience has been practically flawless. I have had absolutely NO problem connecting with the weather service and again I have been using this for close to 4 years. In fact I haven't had even a single instance of not being able to connect with the weather service. Its worked like clockwork for 4 years running.

As for the argument that everything is already available on the net for free. Well this is in part true. You can go to NOAA or the SPC and get all the weather data you want, for free. They have satellite imagery covering the entire planet and its always up to date. The bottom line is there are an absolute boatload of weather related websites on the net and most of them are accessible and free and to be honest I still visit many of those sites on an almost daily basis. So why do I continue to use this piece of software. Well quite simply because its far more enjoyable than any of those other sites and it allows me to access alot of that data without having to go to those websites. Lets face it, NOAA and the SPC websites do not allow me to run these maps and models as my desktop. 3D weather globe does. NOAA and the SPC also do not use cutting edge graphics and understandably so. They are scientific sites and the pictures available are pictures taken directly from satellites. 3D weather globe takes the current weather data and projects it over high quality maps. It really makes it far more visually stimulating. If there is something in particular I am looking for and it happens to be something that 3D weather globe cannot give me, well I still have the option of going to all of those websites. I do not view one as a replacement for the other. Instead I look at them as complimentary and I have gotten spoiled on having both. So the bottom line is when referring to the actual weather data, this program does not give you anything that isnt already available on the net for free. The data can be gotten from any one of a hundred websites. That however isnt what makes this app special. Its what the app does with that weather data that makes it special. Why do I want to go surfing for my weather data when I can have it collected for me and displayed on absolutely gorgeous maps running as my desktop. Again none of those websites can do that and imo that one thing alone is worth the price.

It is important to note that MacKiev just recently released a new deluxe version of this application and it addresses many of the complaints that people had with this version. In fact even tho I gave this app 4 stars, I would definitely skip this version and buy the new deluxe version. Its simply a much deeper program and many of the things that made this app so great are vastly improved making the new version just that much better. For example the deluxe version now has views that are ten times more detailed than before as they are now using the absolute highest resolution NASA maps available of the entire planet, just 100 meters to a pixel vs. a kilometer to a pixel in the original edition. The difference is amazing. In the deluxe version you can now tilt the earths surface thus enabling you to see the earths surface in 3D. Some more improvements include real time weather effects, 30,000 new locations in the database, a new route manager including more than a hundred famous routes from explorers like Nemo and Cook, a database of past hurricanes including their routes, and last but not least you now have the ability to view celestial maps for those who want to learn the constellations or even see what the sky looked like at a certain date in the past. Overall its a wealth of improvements and I would easily give the deluxe version a 5 star rating. It is 20 dollars more but its absolutely worth it. For those who dont want to shell out that additional cash, this version is still a fantastic app and well worth the money.

While this is a great app for adults, its is simply indispensable for your children. My son was absolutely mesmerized by this app and it eventually led to a whole new resect and outlook for him in regards to the weather. That in itself made this purchase a thousand time more valuable. Before I purchased this app he had as much interest in the weather as most 12 year olds do. In other words the only interest he had in the weather was the effect it had on his ability to go out and play with his friends. This app really changed all of that and he has since taken a much bigger interest in the subject. I actually caught him last week reading one of my weather books, a fairly complicated one that deals with weather mapping. It was this application that really sparked this recent interest. You simply cant put a value on such things.

Again I can only give you my experience with this product and my experience has been nothing but positive. In fact out of the hundreds of applications that I have used at one time or another on my Mac, 3D weather would most assuredly be one of a small handful of apps that I not only used the most but also had the best experience with overall. I highly recommend this app and in regards to the new deluxe version, well I cannot possibly give that new improved version of this app a higher recommendation. It is simply amazing. By the way this app isnt just for people like myself who are really interested in the weather. Even if your interest in the weather doesn't go much past seeing daily or weekly forecasts, this app will still be a great purchase. Who knows, it just may spark an interest in this subject matter that you didn't even know existed. It did with my son.

Overall a fantastic application!!

Customer Review: Potentially Good Product But NO Support!
This is a good product but, after registering it online, the current weather and forecasts don't work. That service is supposed to be free for the first year with purchase and registration. Without it the program is pretty useless; just a spinning globe! I have emailed the software company several times and never get a reply. Do not buy!!!!!

Customer Review: Very handy gadget
I've been cutting down a lot on my energy usage recently, and I wanted something that would help me see just how much of a difference my efforts were making, so I decided to order a kill-a-watt. When I first received it, I went around my whole house testing out gadgets to see just how much energy they use. I was quite surprised by a lot of items. I have an air purifier that stays on almost 24/7 so I was sure that it was hogging a lot of energy, however I was only using a mere 13 watts! Now I can feel comfortable about leaving it on without worrying about my energy bill.

Now whenever I get a new gadget, I always test it with my kill-a-watt meter so I can set limits on how much I use that gadget. My energy bill has definitely went down since I have been using this, and I am even going to bring it to my mom's house to try to get her to change her energy-draining ways.

My only complaint is that it covers both outlets. I am thinking about ordering the extender to combat this.

Customer Review: simple yet totally effective
To me this little baby is for those you value savings over the long run, just like spending a few bucks to buy a CFL light bulb knowing that in about 3~6 months it'll pay for itself.

What I found effective by using the P3 is that all TV's, dvd players, & audio equipment should be plugged into a power strip... I observed wattage usage as high as 25 watts/hr on stand-bye for a tv, dvd player, and home theater(these are energy star products 2007 & newer). Thats over 575 watts of wasted power a day(assuming you use the equipment 1 hr per day)for a typical living room set. Stand-By Power usage is shocking, & eventually you'll be plugging every device into this meter to see what really is an energy efficient appliance. Energy saving for $200 or more a year(based on a single 3~4 bedroom home) can be had by monitoring energy usage & using simple devices as power strips & programable timers.

It's amazing that such a device hasn't been available on the market 10~20 yrs ago... this would do wonders for former brown-out states(CA in the late 1990's is a perfect example). By purchasing the P3 kill-a-watt, you'll be on your way to being energy conservative, being green, and saving a buck in the process.

Customer Review: Delivers basic performance for the price
As noted by other reviewers, the P3 should have been designed to not cover two outlets and would be better with a short extension cord to allow better placement for readability. But it does deliver power used over tested time, which is what I purchased it for. Advertizing power consumed per week or month, etc. is misleading as either you leave the single device plugged in for the full period, or calculate the proportion constant to get the desired period. Not a hardship, but misleading copy.
Decent value for its intended purpose.

Customer Review: Great Product, quick shipping
This thing is great! I've been using it to monitor my electric consumption for certain personal appliances in my house so that I can be more accurate about how much I pay for my portion of the electric bills (I live with roommates). It's awesome for just looking at how much electricity is being used on various appliances for long periods of time.

Customer Review: Kill a Watt Produces Savings
Energy conservation is the most important tool for reducing costly energy consumption and this device is an economical and effective tool as the first step in conservation. It enables a user to determine the amount of electricity a device is using. As a result of its use, we have purchased a new dehumidifier that will pay for itself and the Kill a Watt in less than a year. Suggestions: a 220-volt version and better instructions for using the data from the device to calculate consumption (kWh/hr) for comparison purposes.

Leatherman 830850 Skeletool CX Multitool Home Improvement: Leatherman 830850 Skeletool CX Multitool
Manufacturer: Leatherman
Price: $96.00

Editorial Review: Product Description
The sleek new Leatherman Skeletool CX gets you back to basics... very cool basics. The Skeletool CX has only the most necessary of multi-tool features, because sometimes that's all you need. With a 154CM combo stainless steel blade, pliers, bit driver, pocket clip and carabiner/bottle opener, you're set. Lightweight, low volume, perfect size. The Skeletool CX: Who says more is better? Tools: Large Bit Driver Bottle Opener Carabiner Clip INCLUDED BITS - Phillips #1 and #2 Bit, Screwdriver 3/16 and 1/4 Bit

Customer Review: Light yes. Strong no.
Initially I really like the function and weight of this multitool. However now after a few months of use I've already broken the pliers.

Customer Review: *Extremely* Handy + Terrific Customer Service
I carry this everywhere, and it's saved me *many* trips down to my toolbox in the basement. It's quite light, and doesn't take up too much pocket space.

The design is really ingenious. I particularly love the changeable bits. The Skeletool ships with double-ended flat and Philips bits, and they store in the knife, so you're never without them. I bought the accessory bit set. It covers about 95% of the fasteners you're likely to run into.

The combination general-purpose/needlenose pliers are really quite good. Having the skinny tips has come in handy more than once.

In hindsight, I *might* go for the non-CX Skeletool simply because I like its smooth knife blade rather than the CX's semi-serrated. It's easier to sharpen. OTOH, the CX is excellent as-is, and the carbon-fiber is sexy. And yes, 154CM is better than 420HC. Not sure how much that matters in real life, though.

Yours truly broke off the tip of the knife blade (my fault, not the CX's). I wrote Leatherman an email. They said to send them $10 ($9? can't remember) for repair and return shipping. That sounded like a good deal, so I did it. After a couple of weeks I got a BRAND NEW CX along with my original uncashed check. I feel almost embarrassed at their generosity.

Anyway, I'd buy this again in an instant. I'm even tempted to squirrel another one away in case Earth is hit by an asteroid and they stop making them.

Customer Review: Great Multitool!
This has been in my pocket since i bought it. I use it everyday at work, and take it backpacking with me. It doesn't have 300 fold out gadgets, just some basic functions that almost anyone would need. The changeable bits are great, and don't weigh a lot at all. I was skeptical about losing them at first, but I haven't had any trouble at all with them. Great quality for the price, and for those of us who just want things we will actually use day-to-day, this is the tool.

Customer Review: awesome!
Sharp knife. Really cool looking. Took it camping and only wished for my other leathermen once when I came across a can of blueberries and didn't have a can opener.

Customer Review: Memorial Day Struggles!
I have been keeping this in the car for emergency situations when or if I was not wearing my Leatherman Charge.( which gets a 5 star plus rating!)
I had to cut some of the wire on a wreath at the cemetary & then bend it & it was a struggle to see if the wire or the Leatherman was going to win out as #1. I knew where the best place to cut the wire was on the multi-tool but when I started to bend the wire; I could see the needlenose part was flexing. The multi-tool won out but I know to take my Leatherman Charge when I go camping! I wonder how Survivorman or Bear Grylls would rate this cool looking multi-tool? I would not want to have to depend on this Leatherman in the mountains camping or way back in a forest somewhere! In my opinion, the Leatherman New Wave would have been a better buy!

LARGE WOLF TEE

Customer Review: I HATE this shirt and it's stupid wolves!!!
I bought this supposedly "great" shirt for my ex boyfriend back when he wasn't an ex yet. He Lovvvvvvvved it! He wore it to the grocery store to get a loaf of bread. Ha! He got bread alright. He got himself a new girlfriend with the shirt I bought for that low life! Yeah, and she's younger, prettier, blonder, [...], makes more money, drives a nicer car, owns a nicer house and doesn't even have a drug problem! Whatever. Everybody LOVVVES the 3 wolf shirt. But only because you never think about those of us who are really HURT by this terrible Tee! Thanks for nuthin 3 Wolves. I want a refund and a new boyfriend!

Customer Review: Was It A Dream? Also: Missing Dog
I don't know if this was a dream, but some time ago I purchased a three wolf moon shirt from a haggard Gypsy woman passing through our village. She seemed reluctant to make the sale even while noting that her own son, now passed on I gathered, had owned such a garment. She made some comment about "moonbane" and saying my prayers by night, or some such nonsense, as is wont of these superstitious types and I daresay probably abetted by a hint of dementia. But I digress. Later that evening while brushing my teeth I looked in the mirror and, strange as it seemed, the wolves seemed somehow different. I was tired and, I thought, sleepy but it seemed more that I was dizzy. When I looked again I saw that the wolves were now even more changed. They were beginning; it seemed to me, to change or morph: to begin to appear human. At the same time my image in the mirror seemed altered as well, distant, hazy, but my beard seemed fuller and the teeth I was brushing -- were they mine? So long, so much sharper.
I don't believe I even made my bedchamber before entering the land of Nod it seems. The next thing I remember, but vaguely, only as images and sensations, was running free through the moonlit night and the forest floor. Everything colorless, black and white yet bright and clear. The sense of freedom and carefreeness was exhilarating. I met with "others" I know not what, like myself and we ran, fought, hunted, captured, killed and ate in a ravenous, otherworldly orgy of bloodlust and delight followed by - I'm sorry, but to be honest, as I must - the most carnal acts of "mating."
The next morning when I pulled myself at last from the floor and the deepest, almost narcotic, sleep I have ever known, I was exhausted yet energized. I felt more ALIVE than I have ever known. The back door was wide open and muddy dog prints trailed across the tile though they seemed to change, grow larger as they progressed. After reaching the carpet of the den they just became only formless mud which finally disappeared altogether. I assumed this was the work of my canine companion, that rascal, Rex.
Altogether quite strange indeed.
Incidentally, Rex has gone missing and I am worried, as he developed an unusual bleeding of the [...] after the night of my strange and wonderful dream.

Sir Lawrence Talbot.

Customer Review: Helped Me Win Money At The Casino
I went to my local casino two days ago to have a drink with a friend. I had an amazing experience I had to share with you.

First of all, I never gamble. I don't like the odds. But, we decided anyway to gamble away $20 dollars.

We looked around trying to decide where to blow the money. We looked at the card tables, the roulette wheel, and finally, the slot machines.

And then I saw it. A slot machine with a big wolf's head on it.

I instantly remembered the power of the wolf t-shirt and confidently walked over to the machine.

We put in our $20 dollars. It was a very complicated machine (to us) and we asked the grizzled woman at the next chair how to bet. She guided us expertly (like a wise elder) and we proceeded to double our money in the first two spins.

She recommended we cash out $20 to bank our winnings. We obediently complied (as if in a trance of wolf spirit and earth mother). We spun a couple of more times, won again, and realized that our glorious moment was complete.

We cashed out, more than doubling our money, and walked out of the casino feeling high. This is my first post on amazon in my entire life. If you can't buy this shirt, do as I did, and let it guide you throughout your life.

Customer Review: Lawn Statuary Delivery Driver's Delight
I bought that shirt several years ago, long before it became such a mega rage. And let me tell you, each time I wore it while driving I only got green lights. Seriously, not a single red light on any of the days that I drove while wearing it. It was crazy. I almost never even had to touch my brakes, and since I made my living as a lawn statuary delivery driver, I was able to deduct the purchase price from my taxes. What a double blessing. But, be warned, the three wolves' didn't have the same strength if I wore the shirt under another shirt, such as when layering for winter. Doing that reduced the shirt's power and resulted in my getting only yellow lights when I drove. That made for some exciting but rather stressful days of driving. Sadly, I don't drive anymore and I haven't discovered what other powers my shirt has.

Customer Review: R.I.P.
I tried to clean a stain off of my Three Wolf Moon shirt with OxyClean and Billy Mays died instantly. Coincidence?...I think not.

Moving Comfort Women Apparel: Moving Comfort Women's Fiona Bra
Manufacturer: Moving Comfort
Price: $44.00

Editorial Review: Product Description
Moving Comfort Style 771660. High-impact, no wire soft cup sports bra. Stretch microfiber. Mesh-lined cups provide shape and support. Plush threads and elastics minimize chafing. Deep V-back prevents straps from slipping. Moisture-wicking, keeps you feeling cool and dry. Straps adjust in front, secured with Velcro. 3 column, 3 row hook and eye back closure. Flatters full busted figures. Ideal for jogging, aerobics, high-impact.

Customer Review: GREAT for running if you have a larger chest
I am a 38D and have been breastfeeding for over a year now. This bra has been GREAT!!! If you have ever nursed you know that your breast change a lot throughout the day. This bra held my girls in place so I could actually run. All of my old bras that I used to be able to run in wouldn't support me like I needed and just moved with my chest rather than keeping my girls from bouncing everywhere. OUCH! I have 4 of these and will keep buying them! I will say that it is true to size and I can run in a 38D but I like running in the 36C size better so NOTHING moves and even though I am in a smaller size I don't have the little muffin poking out top.

I looked all over and tried on tons of bras this is the best one for running and bouncing ladies!!! I can do aerobics now! even jumping jacks!

Customer Review: Holds me in!
I used to wear an underwire bra and a sports bra to strap my 34D puppies down, but no more! The Fiona bra keeps me snug, so I can run or play basketball without giving myself black eyes.

Customer Review: satisfied
Style had been recommended as a nursing sports bra b/c of the strap style that fastened in front, allowing you to pull the front "cups" down, similar to a nursing bra. While the strap style allowed for nice custom fit, I found it cumbersome to use on a regular basis for nursing, and just went with lifting the sports bra from the bottom. But strictly as a sports bra for a DD size, I think it's pretty good. Very comfortable, decent support. I don't know if a bra exists that provides the kind of support I'm looking for!

Customer Review: Good Bra
This is a well constructed bra which provides good support while jogging. I would likely buy it again.

Customer Review: Do not trust
I was really happy with this bra until I got it home. I set it on my nightstand next to a twenty dollar bill while I went to the kitchen to make dinner. When I came back upstairs less than an hour later the money was gone. I refuse to believe this was a coincidence.

Customer Review: 48 "Umbrella
Umbrella is made very well the handle is easy to grip, very happy, bought a bigger one for two people

Customer Review: great umbrella
Great umbrella, preforms as advertised. My only concern is that the 48 might be a bit too large for city use. I live and work in Manhattan, so i got tired of playing umbrella chicken on narrow sidewalks and decided to get a smaller umbrella. The umbrella is slightly too big for one person, but too small for two people. I was thinking about getting the 43, but i think that was too small. By the way, the 48 is the measure of the arch, not the diameter of the umbrella, once opened. Anyway, i am happy!

Customer Review: A quality and sturdy umbrella
My first one was defective in that it wouldn't stay in the upright position because of a weak spring but the replacement one works great! Its about 3 feet long folded up and for that size I wish it was a bit bigger than 48in but oh well. A high quality piece that I keep in my trunk and know I can depend on.

Customer Review: Good umbrella but not large enough
I have not had any really fierce winds to try out my new GustBuster. It worked well in mild winds. My problem with the 48-inch model is that it's not large enough to keep my legs dry even with slight winds. I should have bought the larger model.

The wood handle looks nice at first but it's already showing signs of wear. The umbrella's automatic opening feature works, but not perfectly. It usually pops up another notch a few minutes after the first opening.

Customer Review: very disappointed
Three broken struts in a couple of years. I fixed the first couple with pliars and a piece of a paper clip. Then it went into the trash. The design is great...makes a lot of sense, but the quality of the materials they use are the weak link. They sell these because the design really makes sense, but I was extremely disappointed with the longevity of it, especially considering the price.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Book: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
Manufacturer: Atheneum
Price: $6.99

Editorial Review: Product Description

If food dropped like rain from the sky, wouldn't it be marvelous! Or would it? It could, after all, be messy. And you'd have no choice. What if you didn't like what fell? Or what if too much came? Have you ever thought of what it might be like to be squashed flat by a pancake?

Customer Review: Great book!!
I bought this book for my neice because I remembered reading it when I was little. I LOVED it when I was kid and what surprised me the most is when I recieved the book and opened it up I couldn't put it down, of corse it only took me a few minutes to read it, but I seriously considered keeping it for myself. I can't believe I still love it after all these years. It is a true classic!

Customer Review: a fun read
This is one of the most delightful childrens' books I have read in years. While working with a student in elementary school, we read the story in a reading book and we both loved it. I bought the book so the student could have his own copy. A wonderful book for children and no matter how old they are, they will love it. Even adults will love it!

Customer Review: Good Buy
The book was as described. It was a childhood favorite of mine. Now my son can enjoy it as well. Thank you!

Customer Review: Book good, shipping slow
Book was just as discribed:) Shipping was extra SLOW... Had forgotten I ordered the book...

Customer Review: Poor Customer Service
Several weeks passed without my receiving this book. I received an email stating that the merchant cancelled my order. How disappointing. This was supposed to be an Easter gift for my daughter.

Customer Review: Finally a warm weather book for knitters!
This charming book was well thought out. It is a lovely compendium of projects for knitters in the warmer zones. From beach accessories to lovely lace shawls, it has more patterns that I will knit than many books with a hundred patterns.
The convenience of printing out knitting charts from the publisher's website is a very thoughtful addition that I wish all would consider.
I loved the beach blanket that converts to a carry bag, what a great idea.
And two cute sun hats! It's rare to find knitted sun hat patterns.

Customer Review: lots of sunscreen needed
All 32 projects are shown in small photos before the contents page. The designers come from online sources such as Knitty. I like the 3 shawls, the blue lace cardi, the green short sleeved top with lace up center, the green shrug with long sleeves, the Puget Sound brown sweatshirt, Aviara the ruffled surplice top and the beach bag blanket which would make a nice baby blankie if you left off the i-cord. I definitely didn't like the bathing suit which reminds me of 40s style suits or the smocked tube top which has no top above the breast area. Most of the items are not for wearing outside in the strong sunlight and they would be too cold in the ac as well. None of the yarns are given a yarn number so you have to rely on the gauge which isn't always an accurate indicator. Since I have no access to any of these yarns many of which use unusual materials such as hemp with cotton (cover shawl)this is an important factor for me. I am very pleased with the book itself; e.g. good large print, fine charts and schematics. I look forward to more books from Wiley.

Customer Review: Calling All Knitting Book Publishers: Please let us see pictures of your content!
This is so frustrating. I hear of an interesting book on knitting, go online to learn more and perhaps purchase it, and can get NO pictures of the knitwear contents of the book. Are we supposed to just buy this stuff blind?

I was under the impression that the print industry was in trouble. One would think they would get a bit smarter about selling their products and use the handy Amazon feature that allows one to see inside a book that is for sale.

As a long time knitter, I do not buy any book that does not show pictures of the featured knitwear. And I don't think I am alone in this. Give a look inside.

Customer Review: Bring a Hankie to the Store - Some Patterns Will Make You Drool
This book has some fun and wonderful patterns. There is something in here for everyone who is an advanced beginner or higher.

My favorite patterns were the Windansea Hat, the Anacapy Aran Wrap (though, for the life of me, it did not seem like a summer project), the Bordeaux Lace Shawl, the Cinnamon Bay Beach Bag Blanket (which, after all the time it would take me to knit that I would NEVER EVER NEVER use it for a bag) and the Bridgetown lace-paneled cardigan. The cardigan actually made me salivate and I can't wait to knit it.

As for the blanket-bag, I'd fold it and use it for a shawl - -it's that beautiful. It would be such a waste of time to shlump it all up to use as a beach bag.

This book has many patterns that I'd knit, it's a good resource and the instructions are very clear. For that reason, I rate it a '5'.

Customer Review: Knitting In The Sun
This book is a must have for the following reasons: I live on a tropical island. All of the patterns in the book offer size range up to 3X. Any pattern that has a graph offers a web link to print the graph in large bold face for easy reading while knitting. All of the directions are in simple language, and anything unusual about the construction appears in a tip box before the item. There are no surprises, except for the variety of beautiful things that anyone, of any size can knit to wear in a tropical climate.

The Curious Garden eBooks: The Curious Garden
Manufacturer: Little, Brown Young Readers
Price: $16.99

Editorial Review: Product Description
One boy's quest for a greener world... one garden at a time.

While out exploring one day, a little boy named Liam discovers a struggling garden and decides to take care of it. As time passes, the garden spreads throughout the dark, gray city, transforming it into a lush, green world.

This is an enchanting tale with environmental themes and breathtaking illustrations that become more vibrant as the garden blooms. Red-headed Liam can also be spotted on every page, adding a clever seek-and-find element to this captivating picture book.

Customer Review: An eco-conscious fairytale
I'm calling this book an "eco-conscious fairytale." Granted, these pages (printed on recycled paper, mind you) contain no princesses, princes, wicked witches or dragons, but there is one very kind, determined boy who finds beauty where others do not. And there is a patch of curious green plants in need of rescuing. And as in all fairytales, there is a city (er, kingdom) where the inhabitants are in desperate need for an imaginative leader who will transform their dreary world. So...eco-conscious fairytale it is. With sparse, elegant prose and vivid illustrations that are difficult to look away from, Brown tells the story of little Liam, who begins nurturing a long-forgotten garden. Because of his efforts, the plants and flowers spread across his city, magically affecting everything and everyone in their path. A fabulous reminder to go play in the mud.

Customer Review: Love the message...but
The Curious Garden is one of the books that appears on many "mock Caldecott" short lists. The Caldecott Medal is an award given to the best children's picture book published the preceeding year. The Curious Garden will be eligible for the 2010 Caldecott.

I love the message of the book--that things that are worn-out and ugly can become beautiful when people care enough to put work into them, like Liam, the star of this story, cares about turning old elevated railroad tracks into gardens. Cities are full of possibilities for re-purposing and renewing places that are no longer functioning. As an urban park planner for 20 years in many industrial towns, there is no shortage of places and no limit to the possibilities, as long as people are willing to dream and make their dreams realities. I think it would be good for our nation for us to become a nation of visionaries and goal-oriented workers again! The book is inspiring, and I hardly ever say that about a book or any other form of media.

The drawback for me is the illustrations. They fail to live up to the inspiring message of the text. The dull tones, the overly-subtle changes between the "before" and "after" images, the utter stiffness of the people (can Liam even bend his elbows and knees?)overwhelms the hope-filled theme.

The illustrations seem to just show continued urban decay sometimes. The buidlings still look rusty and dirty with broken windows, the only change is that no one controls the inevitable weeds that grow out of every crack and crevice. Growing plants on tumbledown buildings does not renew a city or inspire others to "go green." If anything, the city looks less cared-for and more out of control.

It's been my experience that when someone actually cares about their old urban neighborhood, whether with a new park, a beautiful garden, repainted houses or whatever, others catch the improvment bug and start to fix up their places, too. They see how dingy their own place looks compared to what it can be. Attitudes change and people are inspired to create order and beauty for its own sake. But in this book, the only thing that seems to change is that there are more plants around. It would have been nice for the illustrations to show people painting, fixing, loving their city.

It's probably just the style of artwork that makes the illustrations seem dull. The large patches of muted and paled colors don't spread cheer, inspiration, activity or hope like they could.

Unfortunately, because of that, it becomes another boring children's book with a message, instead of an inspiring look at possibilities and love.

Customer Review: Too amaziing to be a made-up story
I just bought this book for my grandson and was intrigued by the author's note on the back page about the inspiration for the book being a real life abandoned railway track in New York City. Now I'm enjoying the news about the opening of High Line Park's first half mile on that very track. A charming book.

Customer Review: Kids' Gardening for Dummies
Liam is a young boy who lives in a gray, dreary city, which is filled with lots of tall, ugly buildings, and black asphalt roads. Then one day he discovers in an abandoned railway station a touch of color: some wildflowers and plants. Wanting to create more color in the gray city, he tends to the tiny garden, pruning, watering, and even singing to it. At first he prunes and waters a little too much, but learns how to be a good gardener. The tiny garden grows and grows until it begins taking over the station and moving up and down the railway line, adding more and more color and life to the unattractive city. Then fall and winter comes and the flowers wither, losing their color. Liam returns in the spring and begins working again on his growing garden, except now many other people are helping, making the garden grow and grow. Eventually the city is a colorful, bountiful place and the complete opposite of what it used to be. The Curious Garden is a wonderful tale about what you can do if you don't give up and really put your mind to it. It's also an important message about how we should be "greening" and adding color to our cities to make them better places to live in.

On your mark, Get set. GO! Authenticity patch on stitched foot strap. Features logo-embossed soft arch foot bed with gum rubber outsole.

Customer Review: Great flip flop
I only buy Reef flip flops. These are the best for non-slip, support & comfort.

Customer Review: Great!!
Purchasing was easy, delivery was quicker than expected, and the product was in great shape. I am extremely satisfied!

Customer Review: Reef Sandy
I've been wearing these flip flops since the day they arrived, about a month ago. They actually provide good arch support! I walk a lot, and my feet are not tired at all after several miles; they are almost as good as my running shoes. They EVA footbed molds to your feet after about a week; during the breaking-in period they strap irritated my feet a little but nothing to the point of blistering. I would definitely recommend these flip flops.

When I decided that I needed an upgrade from less durable foam flip flops (I was wearing a pair from Victoria's Secret) I was debating between these and Rainbows; I eventually chose these because it took less time and effort to break them in, and for the price I got these at, I could buy three pairs of Reefs for the price of one pair of Rainbows. I am completely satisfied with my decision.

Customer Review: I love these flip flops!
These flip flops are a quality product and are worth every penny. They are so comfortable, you can wear them all day. You can walk around on the street, on the beach, in your house-- they are fabulous. I recommend them to everyone.

Customer Review: Love!
Lightweight, super-comfortable. great price. They don't make the bottom of my feet black like my J. Crew flip-flops! Love them. Ordering more colors!

Customer Review: great, just a well rounded tool, well worth the 50 bucks.
i recieved the leatherman wave for my birthday from my grandfather who is a big leatherma fan. After i opened it up i spent a few minutes looking at all of its features, when done i passed around and began reading the manuel. it got back to my grandfather who was as amazed as i was, this is a very well put together tool with many usefull tools. my grandfather went out and bought another for himself on amazon the next day. At first i was sceptical b/c i had come on here and read the reviews, don't let them fool you there are some sceptics who just expect perfection. sure after you use the screwdriver with force 9 or 10 times the black paint fades a little and swithcing the different sides of the screwdriver from phillips to flathead puts a beating on the paint, this to me seems to be the only flaw.some also critisise the case, but for a tool such as this it needs to be a tougher leather to withstand the beating it will recieve if you use it reguarly.if you dont want a case hanging from your belt than i strongly suggest the 5 dollar splurge to get the pocket clip it is very usefull then i use the built in lanyard to keep my keys on(this thing goes everwhere w/me). from the top,two knives; one normal(very sharp actually, i would not even let my child touch it in fear of him hurting himself)second(serrated blade very sharp, i had read in another review that a man had cut through a seatbelt with it, i tried and eisily succedded in a quick 3 swipes almost effortless really), saw(cut through a 2 inch branch in like 5 seconds)file(cant neccisarily find a use for it but im sure it has one and the diomand coat looks cool anyway i i dont really mind)the two knives the saw and the file are all located on the outside, easily accesable and as some have said can slide out and cut you.potentially they can but very unlikely, i have had mine for 2 months now and it has only happened to me once the file slid out like a half a centimeter and it was only after i hade run over 7 blocks to catch my dog. all of these tools are over 3.5 inches long which believe me is long enough and they all lock very sturdily i cant say enough about this tool. on the inside it opens to a multi use pair of pliers with a surprisingly comfortable grip(is cuts wires strips them and has a very strong grip), the strongest little pair of scissors on a multitool or swiss army knife i have ever had(and ive had a lot)a small size screwdriver(phillips/flathead)graet for those small screws on all the watches and christmas presents(and a larger version of the same also very useful)and a great little bottle opener, not to mention the perfectly accurate 8 inch ruler which is also very useful(also in centimeters[2 in 1])all of the above also look which is very useful. the only two flaws are that the paint fades on the screwdrivers(which are actually quite functunal, not quite as good as a real screwdriver but will definately do in a pinch)and the pliers are not spring loaded, which come to think f i really dont miss to much(there is a lot less pinching, it has actually not pinched me once and the springs are not actually that great)some are annoyed with the size but you could not get all of this functanality with a small tool the size of it since the pictures are not to great is about as long as a mouse and half as wide. it is a bit on the heavier size but just like my wallet i no longer feel it in my day to day activities.i have waited two months to write my reveiew so i could test it first and so far no problems.some say theres have broken during first use, mine is fine and just in case you get a bad one there is a (25 YEAR limited WARRINTY)so just return it and get a new one.[...]) . this tool has been used probably more than 250 times in my day to day life in the last 2 months as i said before i sugest buying the [...] lanyard and pocket clip which has eisily been worth it. and this whole thing ius stainless steel and actually one of the most atractive tools ive had and it is eisily the most useful, leatherman has outdone itself and i belive i am going to buy another just in case anything ever happens to this one. for only [...] you cant afford not to take this thing of the fools hand who is selling it for such a low price.july 3 2009

Customer Review: I absolutely love this thing
This is the first quality multi-tool I've owned and I take it everywhere with me now. It's extremely versatile and durable. The only problem that I have with it is that the small phillips head screwdriver doesn't usually fit most of the small screws I encounter.

Customer Review: Wave with leather carrying case
After getting the product and using it for the past 3 weeks, i am impressed with it as i was when i had an older version of the wave.

I feel this wave is larger than the one i had but seems more tougher...

Great product to have around the house and with you...very handy tool

Customer Review: Best Leatherman so far
I have been using Leatherman multitools since 1984 as a Seaman in the Coast Guard and in my opinion, this is the best so far with the exception of the eyeglasses flat tip screw driver in place of the small flat tip on the Wave 1. I used the small flat tip every day to adjust the small terminal screws on circuit board connections. The eyeglasses flat tip is to small for that application and the large flat tip is to big. That is my only complaint for this tool. For the average person not using the tool to tighten conections on circuit boards, it will meet or exceed all of your expectations.

Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife Sports: Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife
Manufacturer: Victorinox
Price: $17.50

Editorial Review: Product Description
Victorinox Swiss Army Classic SD 58mm Pocket Knife

Customer Review: Swiss Army Quality - No Less
When I opened up the package, I was astonished but very pleasantly surprised to find out how *small* this is! The red housing measures 2-1/4" x 1/2" (dimensions exclude protrusions from the tools contained within the housing). This makes it real handy to take along with you on camping trips or on hikes. It is small enough to attach to your key chain (it has a ring for that purpose).

I'm simply amazed at the quality of the craftsmanship. The ruby red plastic (I picked the ruby red version of this knife) is transparent, not opaque like the housing of a classic Swiss Army knife. It contains some of the most essential tools for a survival toolkit and then some:

1) Scissors
2) Knife
3) Tweezers
4) Screwdriver (Flathead)
5) File
6) Toothpick - Eew! Gross!

The knife and scissors are EXTREMELY sharp. The tweezers come in very handy if you ever need to extract a thorn or a stinger from a bee from the flesh. The tip of the file is a 1/8" flathead screwdriver. As for the toothpick... use a disposable toothpick for chrissake!

---
The Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife contains many indispensable tools for when you're out camping or hiking. The built-in key ring makes it easy to attach it to your key chain so that you can bring it along everywhere you go. Highly recommended!

Customer Review: Swiss Army Knife
I've had a number of Swiss Army Knives in the past and I find them to be extremely useful. My family knows that I have the instrument with me and there is always something that has to be scissored, cut, etc.

Customer Review: great knives
These are exact replacements I first bought in Hong Kong 20 years ago. The little spring in the scissors broke so I bought new ones. Sharp blade, tweezers, blunt file I use as a screwdriver. I bought 3. My wife likes to carry 1 too...mostly for the scissors. Very quick shipping.

Customer Review: Crummy knife
The blade is too short to be effective. You're more likely to hurt yourself than anything with the tendency to fold on itself. The scissor spring also sucks, broke the thing within a month. Tweezers is easy to lose and toothpick is just retarded. Get a bigger knife.

Customer Review: Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Picket Knife
I have had several of these handy knives and have always been pleased with the service I have gotten from the knives.

Customer Review: Comfy
I got these for my daughter for Christmas 2008. They were not as tall as she wanted like under the knee, but she fell in love with how they felt. They are sturdy and well made. I nice replacement for the more expensive Uggs. She has also owned them, then said these are comparable.

Customer Review: One Size Bigger??
I ordered these boots for my daughter becuase she's going on a trip to Washington DC in a few days and when I ordered them, most reviews said to buy a size larger than you acutally are. I have no clue if it's just my daughter's feet or what, but after searching for the spot where her father hid the boots(April Fools!) she tried them on and was disappointed to find that the boots were a size to large. Now we have to buy a smaller size and they won't arrive until 3 days before departure!

Customer Review: Not like Uggs
These look nice but don't fit like Uggs. Of course they are a third of the price, so you get what you pay for. They are warm, but are heavier than the Ugg boot also the front toe box is crowded. I ordered the size 7 and I am using an insole to keep them from slipping in the back. Not bad for the price, but I will go back to Uggs the next time I am looking for a boot of this type.

Customer Review: Very Comfortable
These boots are Very comfortable and warm. They are like wearing bedroom slippers. I've been thinking I might buy myself a second pair in a different color.

Customer Review: Great shoes
I just received these shoes, and I love them! I live in northern Norway, and we can get very low temperatures here during the winter. I haven't tried them in extreme cold yet, but they are really soft and comfortable, and they were true to size. My two girls also want a pair each :)

Drymax V3 Hot Weather Running Mini Socks Apparel: Drymax V3 Hot Weather Running Mini Socks

Editorial Review: Product Description
Drymax V3 Hot Weather Running Mini CrewTo keep feet cooler while running in hot weather many people like to run in the thinnest sock possible. Thin socks unfortunately provide little protection from hot spots and blisters.Running in hot weather feet quickly get hot and perspire, causing socks to become wet. Moisture significantly increases friction stickiness between socks and skin. The higher the friction, the hotter the feet and the greater the chance of getting blisters. Higher friction limits skin surface movement, but still allows inner tissue movement. This shearing effect physically separates the two layers which fill with fluid forming a blister.COOLER FEET - BLISTER GUARDŽ SYSTEMDrymax Hot Weather Running socks keep feet dry and prevent hot spots and blisters because they are made using the patented Blister GuardŽ system. This system incorporates Friction FreeŽ ProfilenŽ fibers throughout the entire foot area of the sock. Profilens chemical name is Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE. Customer Review: Boo Hoo! I loved this shoe!
What a cute shoe beyond belief. That is just that. It's hard to believe that they fit so very, very badly. I should of listened to the previous reviews about the small fit. Wouldn't listen tough. Too cute to resist. But why are they so narrow across the bottom of your toes, the widest part of your foot? I have a narrow foot and it spilled out of the sides near the areas where the toe cover part stops, just after the cute wooden beads. Not good to wear on rainy day or near water. Sole is not all water proof. Just partially with rubber sole pieces. Suede on part of sole could get wet easily if stepped in a puddle. Sadly I had to return these cuties. I wished them to fit but alas, to avial would they compromise.

Customer Review: Way tooo small
If you order this shoe then you might want to order a size or two bigger since this shoe is on the small side. I ordered this shoe a size bigger than my feet and it still didn't fit. The material is fabulous, its not quite a loss since I can donate it to someone else who really need a shoe.

Customer Review: A little tight... then broke.
I bought a teal one in size 6, which is the size I usually wear very comfortably. This felt 1/2 a size too small (so I suggest ordering up). It was a little tight but wearable, and had a nice soft sole. HOWEVER, after only 2-3 moderate wearings, the stitching came apart at the toe! I can't wear these anymore because of the gaping hole between the sole and the rest of the shoe. So sad. The shoe itself looks cute and well-made. Too bad it broke so easily.

Customer Review: Uncomfortable for wide instep
A very good deal on Amazon with mixed reviews. Found out for myself with a wide instep that they are binding and pinch. Yes - they do squeak except on grass and cement. I wouldn't recommend these.
